They will score 70.
We will miss 70 20 footers.
What about grabbing Ayon for the last spot?
Some talent there.
Oh shoot, saw the Hawks picked him up.
Przybilla still available I think. Why is he so bad now?
Maybe we should grab the most entertaining and-1 guy to entertain the fans in blowout situations.
What about signing the gay Collins twin as a backup C? He'd fill a need and get them some good press.
Sent from my iPhone using the keyboard.
Yao Ming is only 32. Maybe he can avoid breaking more bones in his feet if he only gets 5 minutes every other game?
What about Cheikh Samb? Looks like he's beefed up a bit since we had him.
(sorry about the lyrics)
Some other back-up Center options:
Hamed Haddadi - 7-2, Iranian guy with PHX & the Grizz last season (potential nickname: Iron Cheikh)
Henry Simms - Defensive 7 footer. D-League ROY last season (I finished 4th in voting).
Jason Collins - Good PR story, (Not that there's anything wrong with that).
Darko Milicic - Human Victory Cigar, Serbian Gangsta; plays with the kind of indifference often seen in patio furniture.
Vern Macklin - Made several of lee's rotations last season despite not actually being on the Pistons' roster.
Eddie Curry - Just for fun.
Nokola Pekovic - Can't believe that he's still on the market. Too expensive. Nevermind.
Kyrylo Fesenko - TRG-2.0 (from Ukraine).
Bad Back Wilcox - Weeeeezie!
Troy Murphy - Remember when he used to be a double-double guy? ...kinda dorkie lookin'.
Yi Jiankian - At 7 foot tall, he's literally big in China.
Drew Gooden - I forgot all about this guy. He's rocks that weird hair patch thingy on the back of his dome. ...Sketchy.
There's no good outcome to signing to a guy who wears a shag in 2013
Darko retired, so he's out!
That's nothing that a few free cartons of smokes can't change.
I really hope we grab Gooden. He got size and he can knock down jumpers and free throws well. Not a useless rebounder either!
Macklin would be perfect. I always thought of him as borderline serviceable.
We could either get a veteran backup big who will be a character guy and who can contribute a few fouls every once in a while (Ben Wallace types), or we could go with a young mystery player with potential (Samb types).
Or we could ignore the center position and just pick up the best foreign player available... the kind of guy like Datome where there are questions about how well their game will translate.
The most positive thing I can say about him is... um... he's available.
I really like the non-traditional idea of going after guys who can't manage to crack the Charlotte Bobcats' rotation.
That's the kinda move that keeps other GMs guessing.
This quote sounds promising:
What about Grayson Boucher?
How about nobody? I would much rather see that money go to Tom Gores' polo shirt fund.
I forgot about the obvious. We could pick English back up.
With only Drummond and Monroe who could even feasibly play center though, it seems like a backup stiff is critical. Otherwise we're going to have to have Villanueva or Jerebko play center in garbage time.
Darko retired in 2005, but he never told anybody and has been receiving checks ever since.
He's like the opposite of Milton from office space.
I like Charlie Garbage as a Terry Mills-type back up center more than I like any of the stiffs that are currently available.
I'd sign Troy Murphy if he can be had for cheap. Let's face it, Smith won't be playing all his time at the 3.
I like Charlie as a backup center. Not because I think he would be really good at it, but because I feel like he owes the Pistons about $33,000,000 worth of time in the paint.
