Also, it is possible that we could recoup some of his salary through insurance proceeds if someone like DeAndre Jordan runs him over.

I posted that idea in another thread as soon as the trade was made. Hmm, back over to the rotations thread I go.

    This guy is 8'3" tall.

    Redirect Notice

He's obviously not going to be able to run up or down the court 1 time due to his medical condition, but it seems like he'd be good for 2 extra W's (i.e. 2 win shares) if we only used him for one possession game endings.

He also has the record for largest hands in the world, so he's no Kwame Brown. I'm imagining him standing at the rim with his hands stretched above it on both offense and defense. Will Bynum could feed him.

Troy Murphy is not good. I'd rather Kwame to be honest.

No offense mate, but Troy Murphy can hit a jumpshot and play a face to the basket game. Kwame is literally the worst player in the NBA.

Haha none taken. You are right, Kwame sucks. But that doesn't mean Troy Murphy is worth paying money for.

That and he hasn't played well for years. Too old for reclamation

Kwame might be a good option. He'd be a good 3rd C plus he can take some FT pressure off of Drummond.

Where is Jason Maxiell when you need him?

Any other teams out there with only 2 guys who have ever played center?

Well, Miami only has Joel Anthony and Chris Bosh. Unless you count birdman as center.
Raptors have JV and Aaron Gray, unless you count Hansbrough or Amir as centers.
    Orlando has Maxiell and Vucevic.
Pelicans only have Greg Stiemsma and the rookie Jeff Withey.

In today's NBA, you can get by.

    Good list!

I'd say that Hansbrough and Amir are closer to centers that Charlie V (our next closest guy on the depth chart).

Max and Vucevic is brutal. Not as bad as the Peli's though... yikes.

    Birdman is definitely a C.

The drop off from Miami to the Raptors is steeeeeeeep.

What about brining back a guy like Jake Voshkuhl as the 3rd C like they did with Chauncey and Sheed? He'd accept the role and could potentially be a great mentor to Drummond with his U Conn connection. He might even be able to mend the fences between Rip and the team.

The spike in season ticket sales as a result of this move would make it worth doing all by itself.

Not to mention, he was at the top of Mikhail's list.

He was drafted high and he's still young. He's the only one that I can really think of who is serviceable and has upside potential.

A healthy Oden would have been a good fit. Miami locked that up though.
