That article stated (in so many words) that the Kings are looking to replace Tyreke Evans and they seem to feel that Brandon Jennings is better suited to do that than Grevis Vasquez. They seem to feel that Jennings would make Boogie Cousins happier and more likely to re-sign with them.

...If the opportunity presented itself, I would trade Jennings for Vasquez immediately and then I'd take my phone off the hook so they couldn't call me back to reconsider.

Jennings is our spacing antidote. No way I give him away for Vasquez.

How does Jennings space the floor better than Vasquez?
They basically shoot the same % from downtown. Grevis just does virtually EVERTHING else better and more efficiently (BJ gets more steals).

He is a great passer. Thats where he is better, and the only place.

Neither of them can, but at least BJ has the speed to make good gambles.

I think Jennings has the ability to shoot the basketball and create his own shot. If you leave him open you'll pay for it but the problems come when he takes ill advised and contested shots; thus the low shooting percentage. With a better supporting cast, I think he'll get better looks and his shooting percentage should go up accordingly.

In the press conference he even mentioned that he needed to change his game for the better of the team. Based on what I hear, I'm liking him so far. Also, he's gonna be playing with a chip on his shoulder because no team wanted to sign him. Personally, that would motivate me to show the team what they missed out on.

Dumar saying he is no longer looking for big players, so Rondo and Lin wont happen I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a member of Team Grevis(I'm imagining that the Grevis Vasquez fan club is called something like that.), I just think that he might have been a better option (better fit) at a much better price. In my opinion, the Pistons need an efficient, pass-first PG who can get the ball inside, NOT take bad shots, and hit the occasional 3 pointer. Vasquez was among the top-50 most effcient players last season and had more assists than any other player in the league (for freaking Nawlens!).

Jennings takes more shots and gets more steals.
Vasquez takes better shots and drops more dimes.
...other than that, they are pretty similar (not in style but in substance).

If Sac-town wants to do a Grevis & a '14 1st rounder swap for BJ, - I'm down with that.

    Last Season:
    Vasquez
    14 pts, 9 ast, 4 reb, 43% fg, 35% from three, 85% ft%, 3 to

    Jennings
    18 pts, 7ast, 3reb, 40% fg, 38% from three, 82% ft, 3 to

Edited to add: If Brandon Jennings is totally serious about what he said regarding becomming a more efficient player, than he would be a tough guy to trade-away.

I tend to like players named for characters from Star Wars.

If Dumars said that he's not looking to make any more big moves, we should see a blockbuster trade before the weekend.

Still searching for the back up big: Pistons Rumors: Joe Dumars Needs Greg Monroe Backup At Center After Brandon Jennings Trade With Bucks, Johan Petro, Cole Aldrich or Jason Collins Detroit Options? : US : Sports World Report
Pistons still looking for one more backup big man | ProBasketballTalk
We won't need a big that plays lots of minutes. There are 96 min total between PF and C. Monroe plays about 30-35, Drummond probably close to 30 and Smith can play about 10-15. That only leaves about 15-20 min while we still have CV.

Based on what's happened before, this is quite a possibility. And it's also fun to speculate.

I don't think Charlie Villanueva should be allowed to play for the Pistons anymore.

    Regarding bench big man...
Milwaukee has 17 names on their roster, with 8 players 6-10 or taller. What are the chances that our TRG doesn't make the cut and becomes available. We've seen players we've traded away end up back on our roster before.
