Sign him up! I would pay money to see Ivan Johnson give DWade the finger.

Yuge move by the Pistons signing ex-Kentucky Wildcat legend Josh Harrellson to a partially guaranteed deal. This guy was the MVP (think a stronger Larry Bird) of the Chinese NBA averaging 22 pts and 18 boards per game!

I wonder if he can play the 3 some with Monroe and Drummond up front?

Can't teach being 6'8.5" without shoes.

Perfect filling of the last spot though.

We are starting to accumulate a lot of MVPs on the roster. Perhaps it is a tactic of Dumars to compete against the Heat. When the Miami crowd starts the M-V-P chants, Pizza Guy and Woody Harrelson will think the chants are for them.

It's too bad the Pistons are carrying dead weight like Monroe and Smith around or they'd still have a roster spot open for a proven winner like ex-Dream Teamer Christian Laetner.

I just read the info from wikipedia on Harrellson. A bit of an interesting story. Hard life. Zero interest in basketball until the high school football coach suggested he try out for the basketball team. Showed zero talent to start, but continually improved. Seems the process of improvement has not ended, so we can only guess at how good this guy is until we see him play some come camp. By his size, height, and reach, I'd say center was his best position. Just a guess of course, lets see. But for now, I think I will go play in my sandbox. (Rotation thread.)

I expect him in the starting lineup before training camp starts. I am counting on you.

I hope the Pistons plan on playing Harrelson some and didn't just sign him as some ploy to tap into the Chinese audience.

I love this move. He's a guy with upside, plus he's a big man who can shoot 3's consistently. Another floor spacer for our team :)

he probably does everything what Bucket of Turds does not do and does better what BoT does and does it at remarkably cheaper rate . Needless to say, lee356/7 new favourite :cheerleader:

No way that this guy will go into the zone like CV does on occasion. He would really need to flatten his shot for that.

Hey, remember, I referred to him, before we got him, as a something you pick up from a yard sale.

I'm sure he will get plenty of garbage time to practise.

On a more serious note, lets not get too excited about this signing. He will likely rarely play, and we will get to see him in Jorts a lot. He is an ok rebounder, average defender, average shooter. We didn't just merge the DNA of Ray Allen and Dennis Rodman.

No defense can really expect to stop Josh Harrellson. Your only hope is to somewhat contain him.

I think Harrelson can be a borderline All Star type player once he gets a little seasoning. He was making it look like he was playing in the Chinese NBA in that You Tube clip!
