Nothing unexpected. LB didn't take any cheap shots at the Piston organization. In fact, if you read the papers this summer, then you could predict every line out of Larry's mouth. Still, here's what I heard:

Dave asks right off the bat, "Why'd you leave Detroit?"

Larry says he had a health problem, and Piston management wasn't sure they wanted to gamble on him for another year.

Dave asks, "Any truth you pissed off management by flirting with other teams?"

Larry says, "That's what they wrote in the papers." He denies it, basically, and avoids offering a different POV, saying instead that he had two special years in Detroit and that he wants to focus on the future now.

Dave asks him about the brawl.

Larry gets the date wrong (he said it happened Nov. 3, then corrects himself and says, it happened Nov. 22....wrong again). Anyhow, he tells about how his kid was a ballboy that night, blah blah blah. He does say Ben and Ron should've just fought each other.

Dave asks if his NCAA championship is sweeter than the NBA championship.

Larry says No, matter of factly.

Dave asks - joking - if Larry is gonna lead the Knicks to a championship this year.

Larry says, "we'll be better than we were last year."

Griffin, good summary. Well, at least LB didn't mention Darko this time. :) And one clarification to what Griffin said. He said "the Pistons owner" didn't think he could last the season because of health issues. So, he seemed to be saying that it was Davidson that wanted him gone and not Dumars.

I hope LB does well for himself in New York, he deserves it. I was not impressed with the things that went on last year but he was a terrific coach and thankfully the Pistons knew the time was right to part ways. Having said that, it sure would be nice to meet the knicks in the playoffs this year!
