I think by average he means all the PG's in the league, that includes guys like Royal Ivey too. Plus, by saying you'd trade him for 12-13 starting PG's, that indicates he's (slightly) above average of the starting PG's in this league too :D

Not sure if he looked PG-Good tonight, but he looked very comfortable on the floor vs Char. I was very impressed with his game, his best performance in a long time, we/I must be patient- Joe's greatest strength, BTW.

Agreeed. He played 1-2-3 positions last night and did a good job in all of them. As I said in another thread, this versatility may be his biggest strength.

With 3 guys on the team that can sort of play point guard, it makes it hard for a defense to disrupt our offense. We can just key on the weakest perimeter defender.

With Flip Murray leading the guard defense yesterday for the Bobcats, even Chucky could have put up 20 if he had started.

Great point. In chat merc and I had an inside joke going, I'm now calling our starting PG, The Best Off The Bench Combo Guard in the NBA.

So if you move Stuckey to the bench - and keep Bynum there, as I don't believe he's a starting PG, as a matter of fact I think he's, The Best Off The Bench Change Of Pace PG in the NBA, but where would that leave Rip?

If you were to move Rip for a starting PG, who could we realistically get?

It'd be nice to see Rip and Tay back, just so we have a clearer picture of what we have with this team. Hard to believe that they could go 4-2 in games where they're without Rip and Tayshaun. Does their absence make them expendable, or would we have won all 6 games with them?

next 6 games will show who is who.

You simply can't go with Stuckey and Gordon playing 40plus minutes through the season.

rookies will be exploited at wings as soon as they are worth of attention to scouts.

So my answer is - both Rip and Tay are practically irreplacable in long haul.

    On the season so far:

Will Bynum: 47 assists in 300 minutes played
    R. Stuckey: 40 assists in 414 minutes played

    So here is my question...

Does any team in the league have their assist leader coming off the bench?

    ***update***
I guess there are a few in the NBA with this dynamic

    Earl Watson
    Manu Ginobili
    James Harden
    Will "the thrill" Bynum

Its obvious that Billups should have been kept around to train and school stuckey before being delt away. Second most Dubious Dumars Disaster behind the Dubious Dumars Darko Disaster

No way. If we still had Billups we would not have Gordan and maybe not CV either, who knows. Stuckey is either going to get it or not in my mind. I know we look at the assist numbers, but I think Stuckey has been pretty good so far this season. If we get a big in the future that actually has some post moves and can catch the ball I'm sure the assist numbers will go up.

That too, good point. Kind of off topic, but I was thinking about this while watching the game tonight...Bynum's contract ends after this season and Stuckey's the next season correct? I wonder if we are going to be able to pay them both. Especially with RIP and Gordans contract.

As I watched them vs the Lakers tonight one has to notice that our bigs fail to get into positions to recieve asts, honestly when our guards penetrate I'm always wondering, Where and the "eff" are our bigs at, because they darn sure aren't anywhere near the hoop to recieve a drop off. Get a big that can catch and finish in traffic and those ast numbers will go up, again that was suppossed to be what Wilcox does/did best....Good Chris Wilcox, not Bad Chris Wilcox.

My point really isn't to disparage Stuck. I just think it is interesting that we have a bench player that is so dynamic.

Take SA. Manu gets more assists than Tony Parker? That doesn't mean that Parker is bad.

It's pretty sweet having a guy this good coming off of our bench who is extremely happy to even be in the league. He probably has no illusions that he'll ever be a starter in the NBA, but doesn't care. Like Ben Gordon, he seems confident enough in himself to feel like he can contribute from any role.

If Rip comes back in form, our assists will sky rocket. You will have Stuck feeding Rip off the curl and Will feeding Gordon on the kickout.

It is just a matter of Rip and Tay getting back to 100% to help this club.

Would the score have been much different last night against the Lakers if Tay had been guarding Kobe?? Not sure if I have an answer for that one.
