I think that's all they are aiming for. It'll be considered a step in the right direction if they lose by less this time around. '08 vs. Saints = L, 42-7 '09 vs. Saints = L, 32-14 I can hear it now, "See, looks like we have the right man for the job. Hell, we may even win one this year." - WCF
I know I am VERRRRRRRRRY SLOW (hey I went to EMU and spent 8 years in the Army) But I just saw it in the paper and it really hit me: THE LIONS ACTUALLY WENT 0-16 LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A TEAM with over 50 years nfl expirience LOST EVERY FREEKIN GAME! NOT ONE BOUNCE THE RIGHT WAY... NOT ONE HAIL MARY..... NOT ONE TEAM THAT DIDNT SHOW UP... THEY DID NOT WIN ONE DAMN GAME. NOT ONE...........................................................................UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
This is the only thing I disagree with. There were a few teams that didn't show up, and the Lioins were so bad, they still couldn't win.
Speaking of underdogs, the odds of Charles Barkley winning this golf tournament is less than that Lions winning the Super Bowl this year. "If he does gamble, he might want to place a bet on himself to win the celebrity golf tournament July 17-19 at Edgewood-Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe. Harrah’s race and sports book has him at a 499-1 underdog, though he won’t pay off as much as he has in the past. Barkley was a 500-1 longshot to win the 2008 tournament and routinely finishes last. "
I think the odds of Lions winning is longer than Stafford's beard. Look at this pic of Stafford. I don't think he has had to shave a day in his life. He better get some whiskers quick. He has no idea what he is getting himself into. Cold cruel world. Having so much talent and then getting drafted by the Lions. detnews.com | The Detroit News | Lions-NFL
This really killed me last year...I was really really hoping for that one win. 1 and 15 would have been great, because when they go 1 - 15 this year they wouldn't able to say they are headed in the right direction. That last lost was too bad. I am really hopeful for a turnaround, I just don't see it over the long term with this owner.
Matt Millen says he'll be fair when assessing Lions Former Lions president Matt Millen said he remains a big fan of the Detroit Lions and the Ford family, but the team will not get preferential treatment if he is called upon to broadcast a game on the NFL Network. - 6:37 pm - He,He,He, Ha,Ha,Ha
• Center Dominic Raiola signed a four-year extension worth $20 million with $9 million guaranteed, committing himself to the Lions through 2013. He said he never considered playing out the last year of his contract and testing free agency, even though the Lions are 31-97 since they drafted him in 2001. “There’s so much I put into this,” Raiola said. “I think it’d be like quitting. This place is worse now than when I came in. I definitely want to be a part of when this thing is turned around.” I can't believe they paid him this kind of money. It's worse because of guys like you Dominic. No talent for blocking.
