A working title might be: "New Found Homes for Displaced Lions Fans". Personally, ...I'm still homeless (Although, I DO find myself not changing the channel when the Broncos are on this year.).
my team has been anyteam that has a Mich QB starting... so right now I've got a few teams I cheer for, and take much heat for being called a bandwagon fan of the patriots but I started to root for them the day that 6th rounder took over for an injured QB.... so throw the hate at me :P
I like that. I'm going to put some thought into it. I'm off Wednesday for the holiday, so maybe I'll start it then. It sounds like so many people are where I am.
Bandwagon got to be the size of a Volkswagon (Me and Laimbeer)... Then the team started living down to its potential
what POTENTIAL?? NO OFF LINE, NO DEF LINE, NO DB'S.1 RB, 1 WR and rookie QB and TE!! They won ONE game....and Im still surprised!
The Biggest Loser I don't know if The Biggest Loser is owner Ford, the management, the Lion players themselves, or me for coming into this thread cause I still wuv my Lions. I guess I would have to say Ford, cause he has been here the longest. Then I would say me, cause I have been a Lions fan probably longer than any coach or management staff, and I still continue to follow them (just with one eye now). Then I would say the players. Then the coaching. There, now I feel better. At least I know where I stand now.
Lions players come and go. It's rare for a player to play for the Lions for any length of time. The fans suffer the most cause season tickets are handed down from one generation to the next. The Lions have MANY die hard season ticket holders. These people are the biggest losers. Hats off to Jason Hanson who has played for us for 18 years.
Hanson has been the lone bright spot post-Barry. In full appreciation of his abilities & career stats (including the record for most career 50+ yard field goals), we are dulled cuz the Lions have sucked under Ford ownership. But sometimes I wonder if Hanson stays here just to pad his numbers. As of last season, he is #7 on the NFL career scoring list. lol...Eddie Murray is #13
I agree. Why not stick with it if your Hanson, though. He is still one of the best in the business. The kickoff return guy looked pretty good this past Sunday. Gotta' find a silver lining somewhere....
i don't know which way to think... most the time i really respec him for his loyality in the face of never getting good... but i also wonder why he doesn't want to go and play for a winner, you have to think that he could get the same salary or better from a dallas, indy or the patriots.... or the like. If he played for any of those teams he'd be a household name.
Name all the Kickers in the Hall of Fame...There's only one. My guess is that he's raising a family here and that's his priority.
Hanson has 1,792 points right now. He would have to play about 8 more years to break Morton Anderson's all-time scoring record of 2,544 points. Jason is 39 right now. NFL All-Time Leaders - National Football League - ESPN
This game reminded me so much of the Buccaneers game I was at last year. Started with a 17-0 lead, and a similar unanswered 25+ point collapse (31 points to be exact). I think the only Lions lead I'd be comfortable with is 35-0, and it'd have to be the fourth quarter. And on the topic of Jason Hanson, I wonder how many "clutch" kicks he has to kick in his career in comparison to other kickers with similar experience, given how bad the Lions have been.
Actually, Blanda was a fine QB who became a kicker and stayed in the game til he was like 52 years old.
