I have a couple suggestions: 1) Never bet the Lions either way 2) Stop drinking water from the Potomac
Ten win seasons just don't happen around these parts very often. Maybe 4 times in the last 40 years. Odds are against this one.
A friend of mine put it best this morning. The Lions beat the worst team in the league last year. It was a game they were supposed to win. I'm scared of Minny's toughness, Green Bay's defense and Chicago's ability to bury us. I can't see this team going better than .500 in the division. 10 wins would be a miracle.
Boy, am I going to have fun at y'all's expense! btw, still think my picking up the Detroit D was dumb? Dewayne White is Defensive Player of the Week. Joey is with the Falcons now, not us.
Exactly. While I'm glad they won the game (something Lions teams in the past few years probably wouldn't have done), the only thing that game assured us is that we won't go winless on the season. I mean, common, it was OAKLAND. They had the first pick in the draft for a reason. Their starting QB was our backup QB from last year. Their #3 WR was our scout team WR from last year.
Detroit Lions Site: Detroit Begins Preparation for Sunday's Regular Season Home Opener Against Minnesota That's the D.White story Still a huge huge road win. In 15 tries we had never won in Oakland or LA against the Black Holers. Times change sweethearts !
I'm certainly no Lion slappy but for a team that opened the decade with an 11-45 road record (5 of 11 Ws came in 2000), beating anyone on the road IS a big deal.
Raiders fire coach: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7447129/oakland-raiders-fire-coach-hue-jackson-1-year-source-says
Figures.......they're gonna be pissed about signing the QB mid season, and then he flops. a playoff appearance and he gets another year.
I really liked Hue Jackson..........he deserves another chance........ heck, if Monte Clark was hired......Darryl Rodgers.........
Ahhhhhhhh...one of the most respected execs in football history. From 1963 -1990, he helped shape the Raiders. After he left, they crumbled...and the Packers, his new team, was reborn. At 74 years of age, he denied the GM / president role, but is willing to offer advice to Reggie....his chosen candidate for the team. If he likes the idea of letting go of Jackson...........than so do I.
