What is the cost for the preseason games? I am flying in tomorrow and my mom lives a couple of miles from Ford Field.

$10 is about all I will pay to see the Lions though...........

Thanks Roscoe. I will find another way to spend tomorrow evening!!!!!

The Redskins and Ravens played last Saturday at Fed Ex Field. The game was free, so Dan Snyder (Redskins owner) wanted everyone to believe. He charged $25 for everyone to park, and of course with the cost of food and drink he still made out very well.

I am not much of a football fan, however, I will watch on TV and the playoffs. Growing up in Detroit in the 70`s and early 80`s made me despise the NFL. I know it should only be the Lions I hate, but I can`t explain it.

Having said that $40-$70 is a bit much for me, to see a team that has been an embarassment for most of my adult life.

Ford Field is really a beautiful stadium. The team on the field has been ugly to watch, but the stadium itself is very impressive.

I was just checking out the game 4 stats from around the league and it got me thinking (which doesn't happen very often according to my wife).

I understand why teams don't like to play their stars in the final pre-season game. But here's what I don't get. Why are pre-season games 1-3 any different?

Is it really any less painful to lose your starting QB, RB, etc. in the 3rd game than to lose him in the 4th?

The pre-season is way too long IMO. It should be 2 games max. and it should only be guys fighting for roster spots that play. No token 1 or 2 series appearances for the starters.

Football is by far the most physical of the major sports and the risks just don't outweigh the rewards IMO.

    What do you guys think?

I think it is a bumps and bruises kinda thing. The extra week's recovery for the opener is probably key.

And it's knowing when to stop pushing your luck. If he gets through 3, time to cash out, and go home.

Yep, that's exactly what I've always heard it is.

Maybe they also want to get one last look at the borderline guys too?
