The Good: A tall, long-armed tight end with good overall muscle tone and power in his base. Does a good job getting off the snap quickly and into his routes. Is very fluid in and out of his breaks and displays the athleticism to separate in the short and intermediate passing game. Is a physical blocker on the edge and has the strength to handle the defensive end one on one. The Bad: Isn’t a real explosive athlete and lacks an ability to get down the seam. Has some character concerns and never had that breakout year. Was held without a touchdown in 2008. Brandon Pettigrew - College Football
Yes, but a cop vs young black boy storie dont cut it with me. I need to do some payback 'myself'. The 4.87 is Ok cause he dont need to run down field. THE NOT GETTING DEFENSE CONCERNS THE HELL OUTTA ME!!
GREEN BAY took Matthews from patriots. Lions will get lucky and take rayaray, The Animal or Everette Brown or I will KILL something!
Buy a Stafford jersey get a Harrington jersey free!!! And a Mike Williams bobble head doll as well as a Charles Rodgers "HIGH draft choice" t-shirt.. {quote lwolf}
With the Pettigrew pick, it looks like the Lions are trying to surround Stafford with a chance to succeed. Look for the Lions to take an offensive lineman within the next couple of picks. I think they have to go defense at #33.
They still can't handle finance: You can't help but feel, even despite the fact the Lions clearly wanted Stafford as the pick, they didn't work hard enough to negotiate the contract to a more reasonable dollar amount. There seems to be little justification in spending 30 percent more than the Dolphins did last year, and 17 percent more than the Falcons gave Matt Ryan.
I HATE THE LIONS. Why would anyone take a TE this high in the draft? Especially with this many needs. Tony Gonzalez went for a second round pick last week. So this TE is better than him...NO. TE? I still can't believe it man. WHY. WHY. WHY. Our defense is second worst defensive in the whole history of the NFL. And we take QB/TE....Such a dumb pick man I can't even believe this crap. The only way they could have messed this up more is by picking another QB... This is just horrible. It's like a bad dream. First we take a QB when we have absolutely nothing for him to rely on other than a WR. That's the only decent position on our team. We are basically an expansion team. Maybe even worse then an expansion team. Heres a conversation my girlfriend had with me after me screaming at the TV: Girlfriend: "Why do you even like the Lions? They suck don't they?" Me: "I live in Detroit, other than that I have no idea. Yes, they have sucked for 50 years." Girlfriend: "Well why don't you just pick a new team to like?" Me "...." I'm thinking about taking her advice now.
Ugh. How do you take an undersized safety that defended in the MAC over two great LB's from the Big 10 & Pac 10?
