Like Flip Saunders, Lloyd Carr is an understated, outstanding coach....
We are lucky to have both here in S.E. Michigan.........

Well...Lloyd has at least won a share of a National Title. Flip hasn't won a share of anything.

Ol Lloyd, gotta love him. Who's done less with more? Yeah, maybe he and Flip can form a mutual admiration society.

I gave five bucks to that Foundation.. Never thought it would work out that well.

Now my Daughter is at MSU so a lot more of my money goes there.

With 8 games against the Big Ten. That means the Wolverines will have many seasons with only 4 away games. The cupcake schools always come to the Big House to enjoy the big stadium revenue sharing. This season, we get ND at home.

How often is a college team supposed to win a national championship? It's only been 10 years since they [STRIKE]won it[/STRIKE] shared it, right?

But they haven't even been that close for the most part, that's what's disturbing. They usually have the talent to be right in the mix.

They lost to Ohio State by 3 points in the final game of the season last year. The teams were ranked #1 and #2.

The game before that, they dominated the #2 Notre Dame team.

    That is pretty close.

In 2005, they were the only team to beat Penn State.

In 2004, they lost the Rose Bowl on a last second FG to Vince Young's team (38-37).

Lloyd Carr has won/ shared 5 Big Ten titles in 12 years.
The most conference games he has ever lost in a season is 3.

The thing about Lloyd is, he has won. A guy who has never won anything is easy to pick apart. The old, "show me" argument. But Lloyd has shown us. He's also been a consistent winner, if not a consistent champion.

I'm sure 95% of teams in Div 1 would be happy to have this guy at the helm. A similar case cannot be made for Col. "KFC" Saunders.

If Gary Moeller could have behaved himself Lloyd Carr might never have had the chance. I always liked Moeller.

I agree. I really liked Moeller. Dude had guts. Carr is only a winner because he coaches at Michigan, which has had a history of bringing in good recruits. I doubt he could build a program from the ground up.

Michigan has had only 11 losing seasons in their 125 year history. They have the most Division 1A victories of all time and also have the highest winning percent of all time..........something like .745......A Michigan coach DOESN'T have to rebuild...........they just RELOAD..........:football: :shootingsoldier: GO BLUE !!!!!
