Magic Johnson Intereseted In Buying The Pistons Or Being Part Of The Front Office

My goodness, this entire Pistons ownership situation is getting more interesting by the day. www.mlive com is reporting this.

I mean he is interested in part ownership. This does mean however, that he would have to relinquish his lakers ownership.

Tragic Johnson is not welcome in Pistonland.

I would much rather have my guy Ilitch. We go back a long, long way. I worked in his first Little Caesars store as a 15 year old way back in the day. He used to come into the store. Just like real folks. Good people.

I know magic is still loved in Mich, but since I didn't become really aware of basketball till he had gone to the lakers, and since I have always been a Mich fan (thus anti State :p), and since he has had his puplic go at Isiah.... I really don't want him in charge of my Pistons (yes I know terrible run on sentence :p)

I also don't think he's much of a basketball mind, don't think he's much more then a hype machine when he's talking on the TV.

I want an owner that holds the operation from top to bottom to a high level and for the most part keeps his mouth shut.... Davidson model per say, with a little more option given to the GM to spend money.

This is about keeping the team in Michigan and Magic expanding his empire. If he can pump addition money into SE Michigan with more restaurants, movie theaters and part time ownership in casinos and Pistons in Detroit, then it might be what the Pistons need.

I can't see him moving on to Detroit because dude bleeds laker purple like gatorade .... but if there was ever a team he would look to own other than the Lakers it would probably be his home state Pistons.

Although he had a bad short stint as coach of the Lakers in the 90's and an even worst stint as a late night host, he is involved with the Lakers front office in assisting Dr. Buss and Mitch Kupcake in [STRIKE]stealing [/STRIKE]bringing in Gasol etc to the Lakers and all of the others players that have kept them at the forefront for the last 10 years.

Maybe his input could help Joe get back on track as we march through this next decade.

Yes, good points. He apparently was part of a bid to buy the Warriors recently and it looks like he wants to be more involved in basketball moves.

I don´t want nothing of lakerland in pistons organization. My favourite player all time is isiah thomas,he is a hater of isiah, f*uck magic,he is not welcome in pistons organization. I don´t want to see one pau gasol or kevin garnett trade from pistons to lakers with magic as owner.
He is born michigan but he has become a LAKER until he will die,he is the worst owner detroit pistons could have.

Any truth to the rumor that another tycoon from the Detroit area plans to take a shot at buying the team?
