i've got duke all the way. i think they have a shot, but mostly it's because it's my doctoral alma mater. but even now watching them against texas, as much as they create lots of turnovers and get some mismatches at the guard position, they are really soft in the interior. not sure how far they can really go unless they are lighting it up from behind the arc and getting runouts off of turns. michigan gave OK a good battle, but they only had 20 minutes of manny harris, and griffin was really unstoppable. connecticut: average score through two rounds: 97.5 - 66.5...scary
Well I've had enough. I guess I just don't have the heart for the college game, or at least the March Madness Tournament. I haven't been able to watch it for three years now. I don't know why I don't get so upset about the NBA games, even the Pistons games. I like the playoff cushion of 4 out of 7 I guess. I can't handle the intensity of the one and done thing. I just watched Western Kentucky get beat by one basket in the final seconds; then I'm watching Duke and realizing of course that they are going to win. The deal is: if your favorites are underdogs, upsets and Cinderella teams, you have no business watching the tourney. Same old people win every year. It's no fun. I hate watching those kids on the bench put their shirts over their heads because they are so upset at losing. I made it through the first and half of the second round this year, but I'm done. I'll tape the games, and if there is a game that fits my reality (an upset) I'll watch it after the fact. Western Kentucky fought really hard. I even forgave them that they beat my Illini because they gave such a run for their money. Sigh. Where's this year's George Mason team?
chin up... maybe cleveland state'll knock off 12th seed Arizona tomorrow and make it to the sweet 16! They're kind of a nice story (oh, and though it does seem like duke is one of those teams that win every year, they actually got knocked out in the 2nd round last year, and in the 1st round the year before that)
Most of us picked Oklahoma over Michigan anyway, but if they could attacked the hoop, got Griffin in foul trouble early, the Wolverines could have pulled the upset...but you are right, as a sophomore, that dude is primed for the NBA right now more so than Beasley was last year...definitely more so than Tyler Hansforth is this year.... Oh yeah, I went 8 for 8 today and moved into a tie for 5th place
Hey Kim, don't get too discouraged. I was really cheering on the Hilltoppers today, and they gave me a great game. Those kids played hard. They didn't make any freethrows though or they would have won the game.
That's been Duke's main problem the last few seasons in the NCAA tournament: they get outmuscled and can't make up for that when the threes aren't falling. Not many people have picked them for the Final Four because they'll probably have to beat Pitt in the Elite Eight, which is the type of physical team that Duke hasn't been able to match up with in recent seasons. And they already have a tough game next against Villanova.

Did you see the part in the game when Griffin cut open Deshwan Sims heart , ate it, and spit it out in front of the Michigan bench??? Everytime I watch Griffin I'm reminded of ONE phrase: THE DINGO ATE YOUR BABY!!!
