Rudy gay is the first to agree to a FA contract and will resign with the Grizz as they try to improve on last seasons 40-42 record. Sources: Rudy Gay, Grizzlies agree to five-year contract extension » The Commercial Appeal
That's GREAT news, Minn was targeting Rudy Gay as their #1 free-agent, as were the Clippers. This move leaves both teams in need of an experienced SF, after LeBron and Gay, Tay probably will be the most sought after SF this summer. Hopefully this still leaves a glimmer of hope that they'll entertain a Tay+_____ for Big AL trade.
...you are right dude...all of these signings can indirectly affects us without even signing one of the magnificant 7
Joe may be stayin in the ATL 2010 NBA free agents: Joe Johnson likely to accept Atlanta Hawks' max offer - ESPN Chicago
Seeing the Gay and Johnson signing just makes me thankful. They are some seriously overpaid players and I would hate it if the Pistons ever paid these guys this kind of money.
johnson and gay are definitely better players than villie and bengo but at the same time this talance is not worth of 2X villie ( for gay) and 2X bengo ( for johnson) contracts.
Yeah. Detroit's talent is overpaying bench players *Cough cough* Ben Gordon *cough cough* Charlie Vanderbilt.
My wish is that the 10 best FA all re sign with their own teams...and only mid tier guys move....with that being said I was listening to the Laker beat guys on the radio while driving today and their big discussion was should FA Derek Fisher re sign with the Lakers after they offered him by phone early this morning only half of the $5 mill that he made last season? His playing time will certainly be reduced even if they lose Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmar. The Lakers will be looking for someone to come in and litterly take those starters minutes and can't afford to pay Fish 5 mil for 15 minutes of pt each game and give the new guy less... The discussion on Fisher was interrupted and trumped when it was announced that Phil Jackson would be returning next season to attempt his 4th three peat....with that being said, the best place to go if you want to win a ring next season will be the Lakers....just ask Ron Artest, or better yet ask Didier Mbenga, Adam Morrison, Tyronn Lue, Mark Madsen and Stanislav Medvedenko who all have two rings just sitting on Phil's bench during one of his threepeat dynasties...
Fairly accurate synopsis' of Gay and Johnson deals Joe Johnson to sign a ridiculous deal with the Atlanta Hawks - Ball Don't Lie - NBA% - Yahoo! Sports Rudy Gay will re-sign with the Grizzlies - Ball Don't Lie - NBA% - Yahoo! Sports
Holy cow, nice work Amir! No longer Bosh insurance, but Bosh replacement. Raptors agree to deal with Johnson - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
So, we didn't think he was worth $1.8M per year and gave him away for Oberto before buying O out while the Raps think he's worth $7M per year? That's quite a spread.
roughly 6.8 mil per year for the 6.2 ppg this past season....wonder what he would have got if he had scored 15 pg, ??? $15 mil per year? with the amount of money that Gordo and CV got last year and what Darko and Rudy Gay were offered, the agents are really taking it to the owners.....to late for me to practice my hoops skills, but I wonder if it is to late for me become Jerry Maguire grab me some big commi$$ion..
Channing Frye set to sign a 5 year $30 million deal with the Suns. Mike Miller reportedly also has a 5 year $30 million offer from the Lakers. John Salmons finalising a 5 year deal that would pay him close to $44 million from the Bucks. Drew Gooden accepted a 5 year $32 million offer from the Bucks. Looks like the Bucks aren't afraid to spend some money this off-season on complementary players. Starting 5 now looking like: C - Bogut PF - Gooden SF - Maggette SG - Salmons PG - Jennings Solid bench with Delfino, Douglas-Roberts, Larry Sanders (R), etc. And whatever they can get for Redd which will be a very enticing expiring contract.
Yeeeeeeeeeeah, I'm so happy for Amir. Some Pistons fans are going to eat their words. Good for you young man.
Miller will fit in nice with the Lakers, and be more consistent than the oft injured Luke Walton and be a great addition off the bench if they lose Farmarr and Shannon Brown....If they do sign Miller that means Adam Morrison will just stay on the bench but still collect his third ring next summer..
His rings per minute stats is really impressive but is it enough to get his number retired? I think so! :nerd2:
