fix'd for ya
No... Darko was going to be a combination of the best parts of Wilt, Russell, Robinsion and Laimbeer (for the outside shot) we really did expect way to much out of him looking back at it.
I might be wrong, please tell me if JD can resign Jerebko and Stuckey next season if Rip and Big Al's salaries are on the Pistons cap.
I think he means that it is wrong to think that resigning Stuckey and Jerebko are higher priorities than getting a player of Jefferson's caliber.
I've watched a fair bit of AJ --he's a terrific post player. IMO, he's the best scoring post player in the league. But he's not a passer and he's not much of a rebounder or defensive player. Once the ball goes into him, it never comes back out. Monroe, would, I think play better with more mobile offensive players - guys who can cut to the basket or who run off picks. I'm guessing he'll be great on the pick and roll or pick and pop plays. He'll also optimize 3 pt shooters - Daye and Gordon in particular. Jefferson won't be as strong for us in those areas - and I think it would take away from Monroe's offensive skills, not add to them. On defense, we really need "no fly zone" guys - and Al Jefferson, like Monroe, plays below the rim. Also, Jefferson doesn't have the lateral quicks to be a force all over the lane on D. As I say - I love the guy, but I don't think he's the best fit for our personnel.
A new rumor has Atlanta offering their full MLE to Shaq on 2-year deal.
I kind of like this move for the Hawks. Shaq's size might give them a chance against the top/bigger East teams.
Yes. Also JJ is under contract for 3 more seasons and when you start turning down 6'10" guys who score on the low block and get you 20 & 10 so you can re-sign Rodney Stuckey.........Fail!
We can be thankful that Joe recognizes that we gotta go young and will stay away from anyone over 30 let alone 35.... The Hawks have a window just as the Cavs, Suns and Heat did and are trying to see if the big fella has anything left in the tank.....unfortunately Shaq's tank dried up after he got his 4th ring in Miami...4 years ago. He just has to admit it to himself and stop trying to keep up with Kobe.
He's 25, still young he'll get better at passing out of the post. Not sure how often you've actually watched GM, but Jefferson would be a most ideal complement to the him, one operates in the high post and would rather pass than shoot. The other works in the low post and would rather shoot than pass......sound like ying and yang to me. Also, we have no idea what so ever if GM will even materialize at this level, I know for a fact Al Jefferson can get you 17&9 on the low block, even coming off major knee surgery. And for all the "No Fly Zone" talk, c'mon dude, blocked shots look nice and all but that's not the meat and potatos of interior defense, I'll give you your point on lateral quickness, but even that has more to do with being where you're suppossed to be on the floor- it has more to do with the brain than foot quickness.
kgreg, minny has no desire for rip and tay and that is it. for rebuilding team rip and tay are simply too old, not worth of longterm investment.
Sure worked for Cleveland!
Apparently Celtics are planning to meet with Kwame Brown.
Shelden Williams makes Kwame Brown look like Bill Russel.
Kwame would start looking really old with a gray beard?
But does Kwame have a Candace Parker to train with during the off season and more importantly in the middle of the night like Sheldon does??
Where's the 'LIKE' button? Never mind, wrong website....LOL
Just use this... or
Seriously I am working on a like button. The downtime between playoffs, draft, FA and summer league hasn't given me enough time to overhaul the forum. It is coming.
The only thing I don't like about the Like Button on that other social network/website is that people misuse it to acknowledge a post when they really don't have anything to say..wether they like the comment or not. I even hate it more when they "like" their own posts.....
