The lone poster known simply as Maverick was found dead amoung a huge stash of largely unposted musings about the detroit pistons.
"I never guess he had intended to write so much about the team," said one witness, "line-ups, predictions, debates about flip and delfino...the forum lost a great talent. Oh well, when's Darko's next game."

"Someone must pay for this," cried a mob member, "I don't care if this serves as an example to all the lurkers in the game...just waiting silently for the killer to show themselves...justice must be done!"

Authorities are stumped as to who had cause to kill such a solitary figure. "I'm narrowing it down to Goose, Iceman, Joker and the surviving members of the murder game. and by the way, the killer left behind the letter E.

The letters "L" and "E". Hmmm...

I'm looking suspiciously at MotownPride, DarthTater or TheLow.

I *think* the words are either basketball or dribble.

According to my very shaky understanding of this game, the murder letters L and E have been left behind after each killing, so they are contained somewhere in the three murder words (two generic basketball words, one Pistons-related word), two of which must appear in a single post in order to kill someone. However, the L and E might belong to different murder words, and they might even have been wielded by different murderers, given that the game started with two killers. And this is all of the evidence we have so far, except that we also know that neither of the murder victims was a murderer, and that, given that Dlev has been executed by a lynch mob, either one or two of the murderers is still on the loose.

    Is this right?

Not exactly right, but very close.

The "V" and "A" must be in the Piston related keyword ONLY. So if there were three words like "rim", "hoop" and "Davidson"...the only one that needs the "V" and "A" is "Davidson" because that is the Pistons related word.

Yes, both murderers can use any combination of these words (minimum of two in a murder post).

Everything else you said was also correct.

Hope this helps. Ask for further clarification if not.

Thanks. I'll try it again, with my update in blue...

The murder letters L and E have been left behind after each killing, so both are part of the Pistons-related murder word, which must appear in a single post that also contains at least one of two generic basketball words, in order to kill someone. However, the L and E might have been wielded by different murderers, given that the game started with two killers. And this is all of the evidence we have so far, except that we also know that neither of the murder victims was a murderer, and that, given that Dlev has been executed by a lynch mob, either one or two of the murderers is still on the loose.

    Is that it?

Yes...as long as you realize that theoretically, if the murderers choose...they never ever have to use the Pistons related word. They can both keep using the remaining two non related words...but must always leave a letter from the pistons related word as a clue. So even though nobody used "Davidson" in a post, they have to use the letters from it. It's up to us to figure that out.

We should all beat the living &^%&$&% outta Slippy. :pirates:

    Kinda like this.

    killers are Mugsy and Bogus.

OK, so the generics keywords are "hoops" and "rim"

the pistons related word is "Davidson"

So Mugsy kills Ethel . He used "hoops" & "rim" in his post to kill her. He leaves a "D" (from Davidson...even though he didnt use the word "Davidson". An innocent (James) is hung.

    Next round...

Mugsy kills again. He kills Brad. He again uses "hoops" & "rim". He leaves an "I" (again from the word "Davidson"). An innocent Jesse hangs.

Next round Bogus kills. He uses "Davidson" and "rim". He leaves the Letter "V" (from "Davidson"...the piston keyword)...he is caught and hung

Mugsy is still around to kill. He can continue to use any 2 of the 3 words he wants at any time just as he did before.

Well, I've studied the rules a few times,:burp: and still don't know what's going on. :whoosh2: This game is pretty hard. :gaah: Looks like it's back to mob justice for me. Hopefully, the participants of this game will attack the true murderers just as hard as the RIM attacked Darko. Otherwise, we may never solve this mystery.

Oh yeah, who was Maverick? Maverick, we hardly knew thee.

darth is the one making it confusing!!

    Darths version:

    murder = f(CW1,CW2,CW3 + dimCW3^L) - (IMW + sumCW1,CW2)/CW3 * [P (n - 1) - (n -1h)P]

    SLippy's version

People die, you hang someone you think did it. More people die.

Everyone is a suspect. Except me.

The rules are great and everything, but we need more letters, so in the meantime, mob justice is fine with me. I will point my fatal finger at one unlucky participant tomorrow! :gun1:

murder is a function of the three clue words (CWn)and an array of clue letters (L) from the third clue word (CW3) where the pistons word is word 3. The immunity word (IMW) is from the list of basketball words just like the clue words and become more apparent as the list of participants (P) get smaller and smaller (due to hanging).

Sweet. I'm going to run a few numbers through this thing and see how it works.

In the mean time, I'm going to practice my noose knot tying and work on some accusations.

An ode to Maverick, I knew you too well.

Maverick was a forum member, he's posted just 10 times.
I never understood a single word he wrote but I helped him sign up online.
He always had a mighty fine time.

    Sing it,

Joy to the world...all the boys and girls now , joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea and joy to you and me.
