Pistons ponder plenty of options | detnews.com | The Detroit News

Believe it or not, here's the summary of McCoskey's points:

    • Joe is not shopping Rip or Tay, but he'll listen if the offer is right
    • Joe is happy to pick at #15 and not looking to trade the pick
    • Joe wants to pick a couple of guys and send them to Europe
    • Pistons' best options at power forward include Boozer or Millsap
    • Gordon is the primary perimeter shooting target
I don't know about all that for a fact, but some things just don't sound appealing, especially sending draft picks to Europe. Pistons have several of those already, and how are they looking? I'd rather they pick someone that can potentially contribute, otherwise try to trade them and hope for the better crop in another year. As far as Gordon, Boozer, Millsap, along with Tay and Rip and #15 - well, we've discussed those aplenty. I guess we'll wait and see...

They should be shopped, but I can't say I'm surprised that he's not.

Again, since this is McCosky, take it all with a grain of salt.

You might remember me from articles such as Rasheed is not coming here, EVER and Jerry Stackhouse IS NOT on the trading block.

Things we can take out of that.

    1) No promises have been made to that Center in the draft and they are interested in 4 or 5 players at #15. Not trading down but will they trade up?

    2) They have not violated league tampering rules by promising anything to Gordan although they may be interested. If they are then there is no way that both Rip and Prince start next season.

    3) Did not say they he would not trade Rip or Prince just that there are more pressing issues to attend to ( like getting a front court ). Who knows what it will take to get that.

We do know that there will be a lot going on.

Other notables.... Flip is not getting fired and Curry is not going to be hired anytime soon (about a week before Flips firing)

To his credit he did say that MC was not qualified for the position (just before his hiring)

I agree Mikhail. If we send any more of our draft picks to Europe, we will be able to have our own team there Pistons West.

RIght on Northwest D. McWrong is the absolute worst when it comes to projections and getting shiggety right.

I just treat his articles with a grain a salt, in one ear, out the other.

When you are drafting 4 guys, chances are that only 1 of them is actually going to see the floor in a Pistons uni in 2010. Why not send a couple of them to Europe?

I guess this means Dumars learned from the, "EVERYONE'S ON THE BLOCK AND I'M ANGRY SO NOW EVERYONE ON MY TEAM WILL HAVE LOWER VALUE IN THE EYES OF OTHER TEAMS" thing.

I just hope if Joe does trade Rip or Tay he waits until the season starts to do so instead of doing it in the summer.

Hey Worm, I am hoping that one of the surprises will be a trade for Brook Lopez. This would be a good beginning for a long night.

Trade the #15 if Earl Clark is gone.

Being able to grab Tony Douglas with the first pick in the second round.

If not Brook Lopez, moving up to #4 or 5 to draft Thabeet, taking on Eton Thomas and Nick Young's salary

Then for the grand finale, a press conference the next morning announcing Bill Laimbeer the next Pistons coach and Curry moving up to the front office to help Joe out.

I will be kind disappointing if we don't hear "We have a trade to announce between the Detroit Pistons and .. " somewhere in the top 7 or so.

We will see. Last year I lost power that night and could not see the draft so looking forward to this one.

They certainly offer diverse styles for our interested buyers :^)

Personally I'd move Rip b4 Tay... Tay offers more flexibility in the lineup... length matters... as does age.
