With Sheeds signing only question now is where does Dyess land and when?

    Cleveland? Orlando? Spurs? Detroit?

I think the Spurs are rapidly moving to the top of the list. The West is starting to resemble a wasteland. Think the easiest ticket to the Championship now lies through San Antonio? Through Texas?
    Was Denver a "one & done" ?

Orlando. They need a big man and fast.Howard can't defend all season by himself and in the playoffs they will be killed,if they face Celtics with KG,Sheed,Perkins(They all know how to defend Howard and how to get him in foul trouble).Yes they have Lewis, but he's not a real PF and a great defender and Anderson isn't a real PF too and his defensive skills are in question.

Dyess might even be a better fit for Orlando than Sheed would have been.

AM would still stretch the defense and give Howard space, but without all of the 3's (which Orlando already has covered). He would help more on the rebounding and can also man up on big men in the post pretty well. Better effort and leader by example for the locker room.

I hope we find a way to get him, b/c we need more big men, but if not, I'd enjoy watching him next to a real center.

Hey guys. Question is, what's the smart route? Through Texas and the diminshed West? Through LA in the Western Finals? Or through what looks to be a much tougher East? Getting next to Shaq and LeBron and then wading through the Magic & Celtics? Getting in with Howard and hoping the Diesel runs dry while the geriatric unit in Boston are all being fitted for orthopedic shoes?

Doe's he glide through the west or bump uglies in the east?
He's no spring chicken, should he pace himself?

McDyess has already proven himself to be a man of integrity. He walked the walk when he left all that green on the table in Denver to come back to Papa Joe.

If it's about the ring and it seems to be, if he really wants that ring, what's the smartest move to make?

Good point. You could probably make the same kind of case for the Dyess / Sheed and the Spurs too. Dyess is probably a better fit there too.

    Spurs or ORL.

I don't think he goes to CLE. IIRC, he really dislikes Shaq and wants to murder floppy hair although if Dyess signs he won't be there.

Go for the money. You had the chance to go to Boston. Orlando could use a tough guy, even though I thought it would have fit Rasheed better. Actually, wait until mid season to make a decision. It will be easier to decide who needs you to get over the hump.

Houston spent their whole MLE on Ariza.....idiots!
San Anton: Just signed Haislip, can't give him anymore money than we can. Can SA with a healthy Manu and RJ really challenge the Artest Lakers in the West?

Orl: Can offer the full MLE, but their frontcourt is razor thin, I think they HAVE to use their match Gortat's offer from Dallas, if they do that puts them over the Lux Cap, and then Dyess would cost them 2x's what they sign him for, if they give him the full MLE, that will cost them almost $12M this season and next season......WOW!!!

Clev: Could give him the MLE, but they really want and need a wing player (Anthony Parker of Marion), but Dyess wants a 2 year deal, and LeBron may be opting out next season and Shaq expires along with Z....not a good 2 year situation.

We may be getting our hardest working player from last year back.

Rumors have it that Ariza is having second thoughts about going to Cavs. We'll see...

You mean he might pull a Carlos Tukoglo????? A Hedo Boozer?!!!! LOL!!!! Clev is a better place for him, he needs to play next to a superstud to "LOOK" effective, but he and LeBron play the same Position, Miami would be a much more ideal place for Ariza or, and this is EYE-RON-ICK, Orlando!!!!!!

Seriously where would Ariza get any burn in Clev?

It's sad to see Dice not getting love from the contenders.. especially his home town that could use a vet PF/C.
I'll throw a wildcard out there... Phoenix after they move Amare's deal.

I can't see McDyess running the floor with the Suns. Can you?

Maybe the Suns will run again now that the Big Cactus has left town.

This time of year is actually exciting with the Pistons for a change...draft picks, trades, summer league, new coaches, etc.

You sound as if the actual season is not going to be as exciting.

Agree, I think he's waiting to see who Dumars brings in to coach the team. If they go with Cowens I think he stays. If they go with Avery I think it's a toss-up.
