My guess is McDiggity would be easier to keep in the fold if he was comfortable with the coaching end. Larry Brown's Piston assistant John Kuester is probably a better choice and Cowens who coached with Flip (ACMC) is probably acceptable. Longer it takes for Dyess to surface the better off we are, been watching all the Spurs sites, only thing on Dyess suggested is their sitting on their MLE with him in mind. . They may also be honing in on Glen Davis though there isn't any offer sheet on the table. Courtside I'm not sold on the idea that the Magic are going to let Gorat go either. I just think they're playing their hand close to their chest to keep any offers they might have to match fairly moderate. Feigning indifference is the strategy. Marcin Gortat is ready to cash in Mark Cuban's millions, and Otis Smith does not mind - OrlandoSentinel.com Other interesting piece is that Odom and the Lakers don't look to close to getting their deal done. Don't know if that fit's into this story yet or not.. Shannon Brown returning to Lakers - Los Angeles Times
San Antonio is the favorite to land Dyess: Free-agent buzz: McDyess eyes Spurs - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
I hope he goes to San Antonio. It's a perfect situation for myself anyway... Dyess has a chance to win a ring and he does it with a classy organization like the Spurs (as opposed to the hated rivals, BOS, CLE, LA).
I really like the Spurs. I hope McDyess lands there... They have a great shot at winning a title this year, and it is a great organization.
I want Dyess BACK, but deep down inside I'd like to see him in SA.
