See, I told you. All this belongs in the rotations thread. Ask me there if you want me to keep going with this. (or move the last several posts over. Good nite.

This loss is all Bynum. Up 7 with the ball and 4 to play and he throws a terrible pass. Next possession down, 5 and the ball and he jacks a long 2 early in the clock.
He may have served us well in the pre-season where it doesn't matter, but in these past two games you can see how much of a liability he is. His scoring in no way makes up for his bad shots, bad passes and the way he is absolutely dominated on the defensive end.

When Jennings is back, there is NO NEED to play him ANY minutes. KCP is doing the 4th guard role well.

On another note - 12 three point attempts from Josh. Eeeeew.

We just lost on the road to one of the top 4 teams in the league last season, in OT, by 3 points, with injury to our starting PG.

We're not going to go 82-0. As far as losses go, it doesn't get much better than this.

If you think discussion about Siva and Mitchell should be in the rotation thread, I would advise not posting them in the game thread to begin with.

    Thanks for understanding.

This is not a defense of Bynum, but if CB hits one more shot in regulation, we win.

You're not going to win many games against top tier teams when your starting SG plays 31 minutes and scores 5 pts on 1-7 from the field.

This game was lost by inches.

Yea I get your point above about us staying with a top team while short handed Roscoe. It was a good effort.
However being happy with good efforts should be a thing of he past if we want to be a winning team.

I just think these two games have already shown how Bynum should only be used sparingly and should not be in the game at important times. I would have preferred a tired Stuckey or a rookie KCP out on the floor then.

7 of 23 with 3 of 11 on 3-point shooting will not win you many games.
I know his defense is awesome, and can allow the occasional poor
shooting game slip by unnoticed, but chucking up 3-pointers is not
    a team sport.

I'm glad to see that Stuckey had some positive stats for the game.
I'm glad to see that he's not shooting .111 to start the season.
He is not the answer though as a starter. He may need to go
if he starts eating Stuckey flakes again.

Starting 1-1 does not excite me. I'm of the crowd that wants to win
every game. There are no good losses. Teams that think that way
like to watch the NBA lottery drawing.

I am hopeful since the intelligent posters at PF are hopeful.
I look forward to all the playoff talk soon.

This Pistons team looks so much better than last year's. We were down most of the game and came back. Andre created a couple of steals by slapping the ball away. KCP looks good. If there is such a thing as a promising loss...this was it.

@ KGREG @ roscoe36: One more thing, I haven't noticed any difference in Smith's play if he's at the 3 or 4. He isn't kicking it into gear once Monroe or Drummond sits.

How bout that air ball Drummond shot from the FT line? It was 3-4' short. Even Big Ben winced at that one!

One word for you: by sitting Will Bynum = no losses - you will be utterly dissaponted.

Any chance you will take Midge to a Pistons game? Judging by last night's game this will be a very entertaining team. It may be presumptuous to offer dining advice but the Palace Grille's pot pie of Amish chicken & vegetables seems to be a winning dish.

It was TOO close to being a free throw. That's why it was so short.

I understand this sentiment Nemo. I am like that too, but the reality is you gotta crawl before you walk and walk before you run. You don't go from crawl to run in one fell swoop. You don't go from crap to super heros overnight. Just not in the realm of basketball physics. The Bad Boys took their lumps from the Celtics and Lakers before becoming champs and Jordan and the Bulls took their lumps from us.

Sometimes you gotta just get beat down before you learn, but as long as they are learning, I will take the progression.

You may want to win every game, but no team ever wins every game. Setting a standard like that, may unfortunately be why you are not excited and I am. If you had the choice to be excited or not about this team, I would choose to be excited rather than not.

One thing I think you all are missing is just how good of a team Memphis is. They won 56 games last year, they're probably the best defensive team and most physical team in the WC and last night I found out that we're just as tough as they are. Moose and Dre stood toe-to-toe with Gasol and Z-Bo and almost matched them in terms of on court production. Look folks the Grizz make life difficult for most teams in the NBA and make no mistake we didn't get some half butt lazy effort, NO they gave us their best shot and BARELY beat us. Not to mention, we still could have played better and we're still trying to jel as a team with a ton of new faces.
