The Pistons press department in full effect. Goodbye Rip?

So Rip was a jerk before Curry ever benched his stinking butt.

NBA.com: Trail Blazers at Pistons Boxscore

There's a link to the Portland game. Rip was still a starter before he challenged Curry in front of everybody.

Front on your coach during the game and wonder who he chooses to bench later on in the season?

Looks like we have another big head that needs to be chipped off and shipped off.

So long Ripster. Don't let the door hit'cha where the Good Lord split'cha :yellowprison:

    Yep.

This is on Rip. You just make yourself look bad by playing the Diva role. Great article by Drew Sharp.

Oh...I didn't think of that! The writing is on the wall now.

Drew Sharp doesn't shill for the franchise. Y'all are thinking of Michael Rosenberg. He's the errand boy.

Sharp has been covering the Pistons since '88 I think. He'll play up the good guy, bad guy angle but he tells it straight most of the time.

I thought he was a lot harder on Curry in that article.

The part of the article when Curry alluded to not speaking with Rip until after July sometime gave it all away.

Rip is gone sometime during the F/A signing period probably in a sign and trade.

So did I, considering that the facts pointed to Rip being more of a horses arse.

Drew's references seemed to blame most of the tension on something that hadn't even happened yet.

Albom could only tell romances, Sharp does tragedies. It's all about storytelling.

My bad Scoe. Still, the timing of the article seems highly suspect. Just hours away from the start (or end, if Joe's deals are already lined up) of the FA signing period. With BGiddy's signature on paper, Rip will certainly be moved.

Rip was a diva long before Curry.

Which doesn't mean that Curry ought to bench a long time starter without telling him first. That's just a cowardly decision.

Sounds like Rip was either trying to get traded or get Curry fired.

Tell it to Rip first privately, or announce it immediately to the entire team.

It seems to me that the former is simply catering to the players feelings, and something that Flip Saunders would have went out of his way to do.

Being overly concerned with how a person will "take" your decisions can also often times be the act of a coward.

    BINGO!!

This is a planned move by Rip. He was pissed since CB was moved and quite frankly he didn't want to be around anymore. He probably wanted to be moved right after Chauncey.

Excellent point. It's hard to predict how someone will respond when dealing with the trauma of losing your soulmate.

Irregardless, if this was a poll, I would vote to get rid of both Curry and TGRH.
