As long as I've got bread and chocolate I don't care whose head is on the block.

Atleast Joe is doing it now and not a few months into the season. Seems like he really wants to clean up and start from scratch.

I didn't see this coming tbh

This at least gives me hope that Joe hasn't gone crazy. That was a bad hire. It must have been tough to fire a friend and another coach under contract.

I wonder if it was easier to do after Bill D's passing.

I told you all last week when Laims stepped down as the Shock coach that he would be the new Pistons coach or an assistant.

I don't think anyone could have, but i'm sure people will take credit for it and tell all the people who were being "negative", they were "right" all along. :sssh:

Maybe this means that Rip will stay.

Sadly, it is true. I'm pleased about this firing, although if CJ is right about who is suspected to be taking the job, we will be pretty pissed off by mid-season lol

Let's hope that something can be worked out with a decent coach.

I am still wondering why this took two months after the Cavs embarrassed us in the first round to make a move? Now I am wondering if Curry was involved with last week's draft selections or did Joe made all the decisions and maybe Curry balked??

With Lams stepping down and Cowens sneaking out last week, we should have seen this coming. If the new head coach is not a man name Laimbeer, I am almost certain that whomever it is, Lams will probably be added as an assistant/

As someone said on 97.1 today, a big FA may have not want to come here if Curry is the coach, which is what I said a few months back.

On the call Dumars said you fit the coach to the players. So, with the coach gone, no one other than the anointed one (Stuckey) is safe.

@ TaS - If BL were to become coach I'd think it would mean the opposite for Rip - "Get your whiny butt out of here before I smack you upside the head". No whining on a Laimbeer team.

I actually thought I was going to open this thread and find that this was some sort of gag. I'm really suprised by this move and it's too bad for Curry, but he really wasn't a good NBA coach. I'm assuming Joe has an upgrade already picked out.

I will never question a decision made by Bill Laimbeer, I swear.
