I don't root for U of M too often, but it would be great to see them knock off #1 Kansas today!! Go Wolverines.

MSU plays IPFW today. I was like, wtf??? IPFW I see is Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne. :pound: Next game is #2 Texas.

The Michigan-Kansas match was supposed to be a great match up for ESPN when the TV schedule was set up a couple of months ago, but the 5-4 Wolverines had relied to much on the three ball and it has been their downfall. If Michigan falls behind by more than 10, expect them to toss up 30 three point shots. Michigan big man Sims will need to stay down low and not get happy shooting the three like Zach Novak who pulls on the trigger on a three without looking at an open team mate. Michigan as a team shoots poorly...they need to wake up this morning.

The game is currently on ESPN and a win by Michigan will put them back in the national dance picture.

Kansas big man Cole Aldrich is already thinking about leaving school if the Jayhawks win the whole thing, so could be someone Joe will be looking at depending on where we fall in the draft.

    Go Wolverines!!!

Sparty wins easily against an unknown.

U of M put up a pretty good fight against the #1.

Congrats to MSU..probably a little tighter in the first half then they would like leading by only 7, but the 12th rank Spartans took care of business in the second half with a 80-58 victory to improve their record to 9-2.

Michigan's defense actually held the hi scoring Jayhawks to only 75 points, but as usual relied to much on the three ball when guys were open near the hoop and they opted to pass out for a three because a man was open out there too.

They fell short of my predicted 30+ three ball attempts, but were close as they were a cold 5-28 shooting from beyond the arc. With the final score 75-64, you have to think what if they had hit 5 more of those threes that would have possibly changed the outcome of the game or if they had opted to only take 20 three pointers and the other 8 shots would have been higher percentage layups or short jumpers that would have made the game closer with the Wolves even getting more to the line to cash in.

I think the announcer Jay Bilas made a comment that Wolverine big man Dashawn Sims had only gone to the line 5 times in the past three games???? The guy was great around the hoop last year, but now avoids it and the 5-5 Wolverines are suffering because as long as he is not aggressive, Novak and Douglas will continue to toss up threes with reckless abandon...

They had cool looking uniforms though and named themselves after an ice aged mammal.

Nice comeback win by Michigan tonight as they beat the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley after trailing at halftime 31-16. Michigan outscored the Lions 48-24 in the second half to win the game 64-55.

Michigan which suffers from the same issues that the Pistons have with a 2 guard trying to run the offense, looked awful the first half and missed all 10 of their three point attempts and had at least 8 TO's.

The second half they were able to crack the zone defense for some ez buckets by Deshawn Sims and they went 7-14 from beyond the three point line to close the game on a 38-13 run over the last 11 minutes of the game. Michigan improves it record to 8-6 and 2-1 in the big 10 conference race.

In other Wolverine news, 6-5 guard Jordan Dumars has enrolled at Michigan and will be a preferred walk on candidate for next season. (he wanted to be close to mom and dad):sssh:

Must have been some serious coaching going on at halftime. The Wolverines were an entirely different team in the 2nd half.

Michigan blows a 17 point lead to Northwestern as they allowed NBA referee Danny Crawford's son, Drew to score 11 straight pts in the closing minutes of the first half and 25 total to defeat the Wolverines at home 68-62. Crawford a freshman hit 5 three pointers as the Wolves got beat by their own game as the Wildcats hit 11 three balls overall.

Michigan didn't help themselves with numerous TO's to allow the Cats to get back in the game in the first half and then three miscues in the last 2 mins when they had a chance to win the game.

Bad loss for the Wolverines who are now 8-7 and 2-2 in the big 10 with a heavy schedule of ranked opponents coming up with UConn, Michigan State and Purdue.

This was almost a complete reversal of their win vs Penn State on Thursday.:yellowprison:

Michigan has to win games like that at home if they want to become a contender again.

Joe should draft Drew Crawford. Maybe the Pistons will start getting some Wade/James style calls.

Would be nice as his three point accuracy was on point, but Danny Crawford would never be able to ref his sons games...but the other refs might give hm a few calls just further his career along as a favor to dad..

8th ranked Michigan State survives a defensive struggle with Minnesota and wins 60-53 to remain undefeated in the Big 10 at 4-0 and they improve their over all record to 14-3. The Gophers are now 3-2 and 12-5 over all with the loss.

MSU's Dremond Green had three blocks and three steals including one each in the last minute to secure the victory. It was a poor shooting night Kalin Lucas (3-15) , but he led the team with 14 pts and 6 assists.

This was also Izzo's 350th win with MSU

Not sure how may of you witnessed tonights game on ESPN between Michigan and Indiana, but what you would have seen was possibly the worst 25 minutes of basketball in awhile.

The two teams had 21 TO's between them to close the first half as Michigan held a 27-21 lead at halftime. It was one of those games where if either team had been just playing halfway decent, they would have been up 20 at the half.

The Wolverines woke up with about 15 minutes left in the game as the Big 10's leading scorer Manny Harris finally got his act together and Wolverines blew open the game and went on to win 69-45. The two teams finished with 35 TO's as there was a lot of sloppy ball being played.

ESPN spotted Joe Dumars son Jordan sitting at the end of the Wolverine bench in street clothes as he cannot suit up until next season.

Michigan was a 14 pt favorite and won by 24. Their big 10 conference record is now 3-2 and they are 9-7 over all.

    #15 (U Conn), #13 (Wisc) , #6 (Purdue), and #7 (Sparty).

Yikes. U of M's next four games are going to be potential killers. I don't think any are MUST wins, per se, but a victory or two would go a long way toward getting them in the March tourney.

Uconn shouldn't have been ranked 15. They're now 11-6 on a 3 game losing streak.

Why did UM fans storm the court? From the looks of it you'd think they just won the NIT Championship LOL!

Nice win the Wolverines, but blew an 11 point lead as they could not get inside without a basketball being blocked and resulted in a lot of jumpers. But some scrappy defense in crunch time broke up a tie game and the Wolverines made their FT's a pulled out a 68-63 win over the 15 ranked Huskies.

    Wolverines are now 10-7.

Oh by the way, the Wings lost in a shoot out on NBC:yellowprison:
