Congrats to Michigan. I'll root for them again next game.

It looks like it is all based on popularity. There are no real criteria (record, SOS, etc.).

That probably works in Michigan's favor. They are a big name and one of the most popular schools if you measure popularity by merchandise sales around the country.

They are 15-16.....the loss to OSU will make them 15-17. There have been teams with losing records in the NIT before, but why should they go and get get loss number 18?? Unless they win 2-3 to to get back to .500.

They had to hang on today just beat Iowa today..a team that had only won one road game the whole season. They had a 16 point lead in the first half that should have been a 20 point win.

Lets hope they abandon the three ball strategy next season and take it in moderation. Meanwhile lets pay attention to our potential first pick tomorrow in Evan Turner and see where he fits in our Piston lineup.

like it or hate it.. i think thats the style were stuck with, I think the admin is scared to death still from the Fab5 problems to allow for a coach that will bring in high level prospects and thus we have a quality coach that is going to coach a system that wins not players that win...

Till the Admin changes its stance I see us getting better but never better then a mid to slightly higher ranked team in the big ten.

Do i want us to go after a coach like kentucky did and sell our soul... hell no (whats the over under in years till they get nailed for breaking rules) but i think there is a way to be closer to the michigan states (that hurt) dukes and northcarolina's then we are right now.

Thanks Bill. I'm watching Michigan and Ohio State right now. Turner looks human so far.

Michigan can make a superstar look bad and then allow regular folks to excel

M hanging close down 2 with 4 to play.

Manny Harris looking good right now. I haven't followed college this year... would this have any bearing on the tourney if Michigan pulls out the win?

What a great game! 10 seconds left, tied at 66, Michigan with the ball.

Harris just drained a great shot with a hand in his face. Michigan by 2, 2 seconds left, Ohio State ball.

Turner just proved why he is top 1 or 2 pick with that shot....Michigan defensive lapse there.

Maybe Michigan should have tried to put someone to guard pass in??? and then maybe a taller player on Turner as he came down the floor...

His shot basically squashed the performance by Manny Harris who had scored 10 of Michigan's last 13 points....

Blame the coaching on this one for not setting up the defense.

Great job by Michigan not putting any pressure on the inbound or the ball. You let us Spartans down.

Evan Turner just built his legend and officially etched his name on the POY trophy. And this is why you should DRAFT THIS MAN!

Jay it's coaching blunders like that, that have kept Michigan from being a better than .500 team and keeping them out of any post season play this season. Beiline must be kicking himself for that one and I hope he takes the blame for the defensive set up. I can only imagine the long bus ride back to Ann Arbor will be after Manny Harris carried the team on his back.

On the flip side, yep we could use a guy on our team like Turner who can make the end-of-the-game-Kobe-like winning shots....I am sure Dumars was watching the game since his son sits on Michigan's bench in street clothes.

I agree, that was sad defense by Michigan. You have to pressure the ball and take the ball out of Turner's hands. Irregardless, he made a huge shot and he is a stud.
