I agree with the sentiment, but let's be realistic for a minute.

I'd rather upgrade Hunter/Murray and then let Joe apply pressure if the plan is to introduce Stuckey quickly to the rotation.

The thinking that such and such will be in the rotation should never be an excuse to upgrade other roster spots.

I'm really stuck on Hot Rod. I'd love to see him play 18 MPG. I'm just not very confident it will happen.

Do we really, really think that Saunders is going to play Stuckey over Hunter? Myself, I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

Here is my theory. Saunders is going to be getting rookies that he feels invested in. When the Pistons were scouting these guys and having meetings about who to draft, Saunders was involved. If he has young guys on the team that he pushed for and he has the ability to mold them into his system from the start, then I think he'll be much more likely to play them.

At least, that is how I hope it goes.

These guys will be his children... not his step children. (no offense to all the redheaded stepchildren on this forum).

If we can't get anyone else sure, but the Pistons need to get a better big man first.

I hope they don't sign that guy. I am sure he is good but why draft these rookies if you are not going to play them.

Falling into the old pattern of making a big deal of drafting these guys and then signing vets to play their same positions. The vets win out everytime and we get to hear about how the rookies have to earn time in practice.

Then the post-season rolls around and we get burned by some rookie who was drafted after our guys and over the summer we have no trade commodities because our rookies are still unproven.

Not a bad pick-up IMO but still need to find that elusive biggie that we know can sure up our interior defense.

Agree that some dead weight needs to be moved and if we are bringing in Hayes and now possibly Stoudamire, then Dupree, Murray and Hunter need to be waived, traded and retired.

Hunter can work with our new guards in improving their defense and duke it out with Micheal Curry on the bench on who Lee hated more:)

Yeah, lets start the center discussion on this thread as well. I know we haven't talked about that enough.

Also, no other team wants Murray and/or Hunter and/or Dupree, this should be clear by now.

And it was good right? I'm funny, not creepy, yes?

My humor seemed to be too obscure last night.

Where are you getting the confirmation on Sander's decision-making selections?

Always keep in mind that I'm a firm member of the win now club.

Yes to Damon. If he were to play the way he is capable, he could provide rest for CB, and allow CB to play a little two-guard, providing a couple of minutes for Rip at the three spot. Could be the piece that puts the team over the top.

Lets say Mighty Mouse can still play, and is over his injuries. Then it can't hurt to have him here. Stuckey would become the backup shooting guard, and Afflalo and Mejia would just have to wait their turn. With that said, I will not count out Afflalo nor Mejia. Either could beat out Mighty Mouse, (aka defensive hole) for minutes.

Wow, that post surprised me. I thought you would be opposed to an aging vet coming in to take some of the youngsters' minutes away.

We need to develop young guys. Our core 4 is not going to last forever. They get older. We need to be ready with the replacements.
