This guy just won't go away.

Granted, he can still pitch with the best of them. I just wish all the damn retirement hype would stop.

The Rocket is returning to the New York Yankees...
Roger Clemens made the dramatic announcement to fans from the owner’s box during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Mariners.
At the end of the seventh-inning stretch, Yankees public address announcer Bob Sheppard told fans to turn their attention to the box, where Clemens was standing with a microphone. As the video scoreboard in right-centre field televised Clemens, the seven-time Cy Young award winner made the announcement himself.
“It’s a privilege to be back,” he said.
Clemens, who won consecutive Cy Young awards while with the Toronto Blue Jays, agreed to a minor-league contract and most likely will join the Yankees after several weeks getting into shape.

Out here in the wild west, hired guns were always brought in to quell the danger. Clemens is no different. He better hope at his age that his "bullets" are still good......................

If he has to come back, why is it always NY, Bos or Texas. Can't some other teams without ESPN affiliations hire the guy so we don't have to hear about it night and day for the rest of the season. :bored:

He's pretty annoying. Getting all that treatment from the team. He doesn't travel when he doesn't have to pitch, he doesn't practice, just spending time with the family whenever he can. It is good for him, but not necessarily good for the integrity of the game. On the other hand, who ever cared about the integrity in baseball?

I like Roger Clemens, but this has been a bit much now for the past 3 or so seasons.

If you still want to play, play. That means, sign a deal in the offseason like every other FA. Play a full season. Go on the road trips. Practice with the team. Stop dragging it out.

If you want to retire, retire... again.

    It's just so darn annoying.

Now I understand that he is perfectly within his rights if teams are willing to comply, and he doesn't control the media. But enough is enough already!!

The Yankees pitching is an issue. I don't think it was bad to bring Clemens back. He might be as good as anyone they have although I think Wang will be good in the second half. They just don't have enough starting pitching, and Rivera has sucked this season. They need to make a trade, too, to get another starter. This is an old staff: Petitte, Mussina, Clemens. Geez, geezers.

He needs those extra couple of months off to clear his system of the Roids. Did I say that??

I don't blame him for milking it for all it's worth. If someone was dumb enough to pay me that much money for only 4 months of work, how on earth could I pass it up?
