Basically once the playoff seedings are set, pick the winners of each round, and once I get together with my man BillLaimbeer, we'll figure out some tie break scenarios. I'll provide more info on Friday. FYI, the prizes are shaping up pretty good. Looks like we should have at least 5.
Bump, c'mon folks, let's make this a community event. Let me know you are in. It's easy, fast and you might get cool stuff!
Sorry fellas, I got sidetracked with video stuff. Prizes to include 1 or 2 hardcover copies of Blue Collar Blue Print by Eli Zaret. You need to be able to read to enjoy this prize ;). It is one of the best Pistons history books I have had Some PF.com T-Shirts Looks like possibly 2 replica 2004 Championship Rings (the kind they handed out, 5,000 only on the banner hanging night) And I've got a glossy reprint 8 x 10 of a signed Rip Hamilton photo. Yes, it's a reprint not the original signed photo (but it is better than a kick in the pants). More details to follow tomorrow hopefully. I just found out today that Alex Acker's 31 point D-League game is being broadcast in the Great White North and I want to record that (amongst some other things). We're still taking any posts from interested parties. As many people as want to play, can.
i´ll `play. hey i´m spain, check out these funky characters!! €€€€€€ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ÇÇÇÇÇ ªªªªªª ºººººº ¬¬¬¬¬
Ok guys, the playoff brackets should be set after tonight. Unfortunately a lot of crappy teams are taking their sweet time seeding themselves. I'll update tomorrow (hopeful that brackets are ready) on what you need to do to compete. So keep an eye on this thread, and remember, your picks will have to be in before Saturday at noon. Btw, I'm more than willing to ship prizes internationally, so members abroad should feel free to participate.
I'll join the fun. I can't be possibly be any worse at this than I am at NCAA bracket challenges, which I stopped playing several years ago because I always did so badly.
You're all in, including anyone else who submits a bracket (once their finalized) before Saturday noon. It's a great exercise to get 20 or 30 people participating together.
Roscoe, are we also going to be picking how long we think each series will go? Like "Spurs over Mavs in the 2nd round in 7 games" or whatever. I'm guessing that would probably provide enough separation between different brackets for any tiebreaks that might be necessary.
Yep. BillLaimbeer has devised an intricate system for tiebreaks based upon series length, lunar calendar and the average air speed of an unladen swallow. Needless to say, accurately predicting each series length will yield a better standing.
