I decided to go that route because of the back-to-back picks and because I went big with 3 of my other 4 teams.
I'm a little confused. I'm not being critical, but aren't these picks made as if you were assembling teams to win this year from today forward? So I am wondering how old man Shaq goes in round one and how dinged up numbers down Kaman go in round one? Anyhow, this was a cool idea. When you guys are all done assembling your teams, maybe you should let the forum vote on which team they think would win the championship?
Shaq is having a good year which is why he was taken in round 1. Whoever took Kaman, I am assuming they are hoping on him coming back and playing well. He is due back after the trade deadline. That's a great idea on letting the forum vote. I was just going to have everyone drafting vote but the more people who vote the better it would be I think.
I can only speak for myself, but I was kind of playing by the wrong set of rules (it was my own fault). I thought that we were drafting as if we were starting our own franchise for today and the future, so I was drafting with that in mind (and I've continued that way for that matter, since I already started down that path). Agreed. Cool idea. I think it would be neat to have the forum vote as well (I smell a poll!). I also liked TaShawn's suggestion of a simmed season.
We could then post the championship game to youtube. If your team lost, you'd have stats to see where you went wrong. Also, I believe injuries happen and it would introduce a little luck into the equation. Do they have NBA 2K9 (or similar) for the PC? That might be easiest to make the inputting less time consuming. I'll look into it a bit.
Great idea. Even better yet, have Roscoe host the finals live on this site and open up chat! I don't really play any games on the computer, so I'm not sure, but I'd imagine that they probably do. You're right. That would make uploading it the easiest. Screen capture software would do the trick nicely. Now we just need a volunteer to buy the game, input all of the players, capture the video and upload it. I nominate you.
That would be really cool. We would be forced to draft 12 man rosters if we did that though I think (but that would be ridiculously fun). I just googled it and they do have that game for PC.
