With the contracts of Rip and Arenas in the books we'd go from one of the worst to the sole leader in the race for worst roster situation imo.

Ooops, you're right. For some reason I was assuming Rip was already gone. :sssh:

NJ isn't going to trade a guy on an expiring contract for Rip, who won't be an expiring contract until next season.

But why would the Nets want to get rid of an expiring contract for Hamilton? They only wanted Hamilton when he was being used to lure Melo to NJ. I can't imagine they'd have any interest in him now.

Wait... WHAT? Trading away two expiring deals for an albatross contract like Arenas would kill our rebuilding effort. I mean, isn't that why we are trying to do? Rebuild? Arenas would set us back for years.

And T-mac's basketball IQ blows Arenas out of the water, let's not kid ourselves here. Arenas got a lot of assist by hogging the ball, ala Iverson.

Living in the Washington area and listening to alot of Wizard's news, I can tell you for sure we do NOT want Gilbert. Look up ball hogg in the dictionary and there's his picture. Not to mention all his loose screws.

Good question and the obvious answer is as you imagined.

Yea, I just answered the question saying the trade was possible. I didn't say it made sense.

Trade called off and the Nets win two games and the Pistons lose two games???

The thought of losing the likes of Petro and Murphy has put our team in a funk...may as well insert Rip back in the lineup now.............

Rip sitting out had nothing to do with the trade talks.

At one point before the mini streak started, Blaha quipped that the Org may have been sitting him to assure that he did not get hurt and the Pistons disrupt the trade negotiations......of course then they decided to just sit him because he was a thorn in the rotation..

Amazingly enough, I don't think even Blaha knows what's going on....

No reason he should. Behind the scenes, you have the old devil talking with CB and hence, the merry-go-round of past associations. Ben, Tay and Rip won't settle down and criticism abounds. JD, being a former player, and signifing that his history of learning is a bloodied 2 X 4 bouncing off his head as manager...looks like he (very much like the US citizenry as a whole) has wised up to the source of the constant headace. Of course, there is still that small historical supply of uncut lumber near-by and the flow from the circulatory system (while still acitive) might become endless until the end.
