He'll make it work...even if he surrenders a first round pick....

I wonder why nobody in the league wants a guy who wears a suit every game and hasn't spoken to his head coach in 2 months.

Seems like we've showcased him perfectly.

I talk to a Clipper media employee at the JAM Session yesterday who indicated that the insiders would consider a Tay for Kaman swap since the it appears that the front court of Blake Superior and DeAndre Jordon (+ Tay) could survive without Kaman...of course those insiders don't include Donald Sterling...:sssh:

I think a deal where we send Tay + Wilcox's expiring contract + our 2011 (unprotected) pick in exchange for Kaman and Ryan Gomes would work. They get Tay, save about $1M this season, assuming Tay signs next season for about $7-$8M, the absence of Gomes on the payroll would save the Clips about $8-$9M next season, something important considering Jordan is due a pay raise.

Bigger question, would you take on Baron Davis to get Kaman?
Would anybody be daring enough to try this one: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4ey35ys

I don't see how this would help. Frankly, I'd rather have Prince than Kaman - he's frequently injured (including right now) and even when not, only really had one season that, to me, would be worth $12 million a year (last year - 18.5/9.2). His knees are about gone now, and he never was a great defender prior to that.

That's not enough. You've just committed another $25 million a year to two injury-prone players that have likely seen their best basketball, in exchange giving up your two best players and $16 million in expiring contracts while you're trying to rebuild.

If you're going to go the salary absorption route, I'd much prefer this: NBA Trade Machine - ESPN (along with a Clippers' 1st)

This leaves LA with a starting lineup of Stuckey/Gordon/Prince/Griffin/Jordan, which is a young, talented group capable of contending for a title. You send Prince home to LA, where I'm sure he would love to re-sign, trade them $16 million in expirings either way, exchange Davis for a slight ability downgrade but significant value upgrade in Stuckey, swap Wilcox for his west-coast equivalent in Smith, and take back Aminu, who right now is all potential. You're still saddling yourself with some steep contract guarantees, but at least you're getting rid of Villanueva to do it.

Tay deserves better than the Clips. How could you do that to him ?

Who cares where Tay wants to go? We need to trade him fast and get something in return....even if it is a 2nd round draft pick.

We should be in no hurry. Just let him expire.

Pick up Zach Randolph in the FA market?

There are some attractive restricted FAs too, but I'm not sure what the exact rules are with them (franchise tags, etc.). The damaged goods: Yao Ming and Greg Oden. The good: Horford, Durrant, Joakim Noah.

FYI - Noah and Durant are signed through 2016, and Durant through 2015.

Randolph is a possibility, and I would love to get David West.

Could you see Tay lanquishing in Clipper, argueing with his coach to no avail ?
He has a Piston Ring. He is Piston royalty. Rodman went on to get 2 more.

Tay has won his ring already and is on the downside of his career...he would have definitely have more fun with the Clippers, helping them evolve, especially with Mom and family living within 15 miles from the Staples Center.

I would trade him to the North Pole if they present the best offer. He can be North Pole royalty for all I care.

Ok, I'll settle for a late 1st rounder.

He could hang a hoop and backboard on the pole to practice his moves.

Odd...The Jazz are pretty stacked frontcourt wise...Favors is a good piece moving forward, but they have Jefferson and Milsap under long term deals. Seems interesting. Maybe they package Jefferson and AK-47 to send to us for Rip, Max, and Tay.

That would be nice, but I think every GM is ignoring Joe's text messages due to the lameduck owner and no attractive pieces to deal with.
