That would have some serious effects I suppose - think about DH, Gerald Wallace or Josh Smith battling the ball while it's still on the rim.

Let's see how that works on the D-League.. Hopefully it will never applies to the NBA

I'd like to see it. I was always annoyed with the goaltending rule when I was playing basketball... on 8 foot rims.

I got called for goaltending once in high school.
I touched the net while the ball was on the rim.

I was so proud of that achievement.

Me, I played mostly one on one. I could hit shots from half court. Goal tending?..yep I did it once.

I tried it once when I was very young because of injuries but people called it everything BUT goaltending.

Oh yeah, the sport was hockey.

You can shoot with either hand, though....very difficult to defend.

I wish that I would have had the foresight to save that one on it's own dedicated external hard drive.
