i like the extrapolation of extrapolation of extrapolation. mccoskey directly quotes dumars saying he will be open until the trade deadline. another article turns that into saying dumars is admitting that he is open to trading iverson. then you turn it into saying he is looking to trade him ASAP.

just as when i declared dyess would come back to the pistons, i'll declare this as well: AI is going to be here until the end of the season. book it.

I agree. We have to ride this out 'til next season. Very little indication that AI will be going anywhere.

Yea it doesnt make any sense that they would trade him...why would you trade some1 who's going to take 20 mil of the cap...

Sending AI to Philly for Miller and Brand if thats how I read it sounds intriguing, but with Brands injuries we may be inheriting someone of the downside with a huge contract....so I guess its a no there

Then again, if we fail to attract any of the all star FA's in 2010, because of a subpar 2009/10 season then all of the cap savings would be for noght....

    Letterman's 10 list of Dumars blunders/mistakes
    10
    9
    8
7 Not recognizing Memo's potential talent & resigning (Sheed's contract more important)
6 Not convincing Ben to agree to a sign and trade (Bitter Ben would not allow)
5 Trading for AI (jury still out)
4 letting Flip stick around for the third year
3 Hiring Mike Curry as coach (jury still out)
2 Letting Mr. D control the dismissal of LB
1 Drafting Darko instead of _________

OK someone else can fill in the last /first three or dispute me on the 7 I mentioned.

Good point. There is a big difference between teasing a story versus changing a story.

You forgot the most important reason
1.-10. Davidson hired Joe Dumars as GM, that's why those mistakes happened anyway.

Wow.... didn't really expect this to be honest.

I won't be satisfied unless Curry goes with him though. :D

I don't believe this rumor. Bill Ingram is always throwing bogus rumors and nonsense out there. I believe AI will be here for the rest of the season. Even if we wanted to trade him who would take him and how would we get fair value back? We should just keep him and enjoy the cap flexibility at the end of the season.

I agree with ya. If he is traded, what a travesty and can actually say that Joe D may be losing it.

Joe turned an $11M multi-year contract (CB) into an expiring $22M contract (AI) mainly because of the Dyess loophole scam.

So, that was a pretty good move if you want to retool.

Now, to paraphrase a famous IL figure, "Joe's got this expriring contract and it's [expletive] golden, and, uh, uh, he's just not giving it up for [expletive] nothing. He's not gonna do it."

So he called his old trading partner, Orlando, and apparently “they’re not going to give Det anything except appreciation. [Expletive] them."

So, he'll continue to shop it around and see what happens.

    ...sure.

Let's just go ahead and trade the guy with the biggest HEART in the league for the guy with the smallest heart in the league.

Oh, just trade him for Stephon Marbury and be done with it. Richard can return to the starting lineup, Stephon doesn't have to play at all and then next season Michael Curry can be fired.
