Stuckey was subbed in for Ernest Borgnine Max in the first and more than once did he end up guarding Chandler under the rim. There were no back problems, Larry put an end to the Drummond experiment. Nice shooting by Cal and it's obvious that the dude takes care of the ball.
Pretty awful game all round. The most frustrating thing being the lack of effort from nearly every player. A few comments.... Knicks defence was great and put our blokes on the back foot from the start, which meant when they were missing shots, we still couldn't get in the groove. Completely agree with BDL on the small ball lineup - there is no way we should be running it with this lineup. Anytime. Ever. Bynum has been good... when Drummond is on the floor. With Calderon now, no need for his minutes if Drum is sitting. Same goes for BoT if threes aren't being made; even more so if he isn't taking any. Agree with BK needing to get to the lane before jacking up threes straight up. He's in a bit of shooting slump. Think Frank was trying to make us all laugh to finish out the last quarter with possibly our worst defensive lineup in Bynum, Stuckey, JJ, Max and CV.
I found the game hard to watch because of our inability to stay with shooters on the 3 pt line. Our guards were constantly in the paint and their man was wide open. I can only assume this was by design, which begs the question? at what point do you say, " id rather man up and give them a 2 pt inside than the 3 they are getting "? I enjoyed Joses first game and like the pull up mid ranger he adds to the pick and roll. I just hope he doesnt look at that game last night and immediately decide hes not signing here after the season. He musta had at least 3 nice assists get botched by the guys he hit in stride . The only good is that if we keep playing this bad? his assists will be lower and we might sign him cheaper...
Good question for Golden State coach Marc Jackson, whose team gave up an NBA-record 23 three-pointers to the Rockets last night.
Even without Tayshaun Prince, If Jose can manage to keep his APG above 7 per game, he freaking deserves MVP consideration. The guys on this team like to take scoring passes and turn them into contested desperation heaves at the end of the shot clock. Frank should have instituted a 'no dribbling' rule a long time ago.
