The Lions don't need any talent. They just need blockers and rushers. Don't draft small DL like Gaines Adams in the 1st round, who become projects. Trade down and draft some "big uglies"...............We need line starters now.................
I absolutely think that the Lions need talent. But they need the right kind of talent - guys with high work ethics and great character as well. I wouldn't mind it if the Lions traded down a FEW spots, but I wouldn't want to go too far down. Extra picks would be nice, since this team has a bunch of holes that need filing, but they also need quality - and that's found at the top of the draft.
Hahaha, well yes those are some pretty big holes to fill, but I think the roster has a few holes as well. And of course I meant filling, not filing in my last post.:P
The owner is wrong................... The GM (Millen) is wrong.............. Marenilli is wrong................. Marenilli says to judge him by the tape. Tape don't lie. Lions are bad. Millen says that only one team is a winner each season, the rest are losers. Sounds like a losers story to me. Ford had his chance to produce a winner. 50 years is enough. However, none of these guys are leaving anytime soon. All that's missing is Harpo.............
Here goes Mitch Albom in his whole might: MITCH ALBOM: The skinny on the draft is awfully thin What a useless piece of blabber...
If I were them I'd try to trade down & get extra picks. San Diego's looking to trade up and I think they have three picks.
Watch for this on draft day............... Al Davis trades HIS pick and the Lions are left to deal with Cleveland.........Who take J. Russell........... Lions choose Joe Thomas with the THIRD pick in the draft.
If the Lions stay @ 2, I'd like to see them either take CJ or Thomas. If the Lions trade down 1 to 3 positions - which I would prefer - they could take whoever is left of CJ, Thomas, or Adams and potentially use the additional pick(s) along with their own 2nd rounder to move back up into the 1st round. Or if they trade down a bit more - no farther than 10th - they could take whoever is left of Leon Hall, Laron Landry, Levi Brown, Jamaal Anderson or Patrick Willis. All skilled players at need positions. Under no circumstance do I want to see them draft a QB or RB with their first pick. There are just far too many other needs on this team.
I they do that I'll go from watching 3 games to 0... anything less than O-line or D-line would... well we aready know the Millen IQ.
I was listening to an AM talk show and they were saying the Lions are going to keep their #2 pick and use it to draft some tall kid playing Tight End in Serbia--->
I think they should trade down to #4 with Tampa Bay and draft OT Joe Thomas. But...if they do take one of the two top QB's I can live with it. Russell and Quinn both look good. CJ should be great, but no more WR's in the first round!!!!!! What good is he anyhow? It's not as if Kitna can get him the pigskin.
I don't think it matters what the Lions will do in the draft. They'll find a way to screw it up somehow.
Lions might trade down twice. If they just did their drafting well they wouldn't need to jump all around. The Pats could draft better at 30 than we could at 2. Meat and potatoes.
The guy from Stanford? Or Drew Stanton? Maybe they can still trade with Tampa & have Tampa draft B. Quinn plus get a couple other draft choices from them.
