I think WCF thinks that he can keep doing what he wants and the fans will continue to take it they have for the last 51 years. I think people have had enough. There is no sign that this is going to be fixed.

We have two guys running the show with no experience that were around when Millen was running the team in the ground. They are looking at position coaches to be the new head coach. Need I say more??? This is so bad you need an expeienced head coach to fix it. They don't want a experienced guy in here because they don't want their authority challenged. We could have a Bill Parcells or a Mike Shannahan running things, but instead we are going to get more of the same ineptness.

Mayhew and Lewand have experience, they know what not to do. Then again they might succume to Ford Sr's. will. I think Jr. is taking more control again and that's a good thing.
As far as coaches Shanahan works for me. But he needs a year rest.

I am cool w/ that. Didn't like him as candidate in the first place. Dallas O or D is nothing to write about, and they have under achieved to their talent level. Plus rumor has it that Garrett would be next in the wings after Phillips.

I am interested in what Schwartz has to say. Now that Maywand are in place and don't plan on giving the new coach any personnel drafting or recruiting powers I am truly interested in seeing who is willing to come here w/ the putrid talent we have.

Yeah, saw Millen on TV, what a jack%%%%%.

At least Maywand are making a show of doing their homework in their coaching search, not sure about Frazier. Sounds a bit like Maranelli, a guy everyone raves about but wasn't hired as HC by either the Falcons or Dolphins.
Much more than could be said for the GM hiring process, no candidates or interviews, just give it to the guys who were permanently attached to Sr.'s butt. Bottom line is that until the talent improves this team will be destined to mediocrity even if they bring in a Cowher. A decent coach may get a few wins but it is impossible to make chicken salad out of chicken %%%%%.

Yep he gave the post game analysis too after the colts-chargers games as well as preview of tomorrows games... He must think he is an expert at this ...
Since no other team will hire him, he back to what he does best..:reading:

didn't catch much of his appearence but reading an article... he claims that his firing helped cause the 0-16 record...

Lions ex-president Millen takes rap for 0-16 mark - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

"He said that being sacked after the third week cost the Lions and coach Rod Marinelli some needed stability and consistency."

also said the team was much more talented then most people give credit for..... ummmmm yea.....

Anyone think that Millen will ever get another broadcasting gig? He was a good analyst back in the day but how much credibility can the guy have now?

He was a fair broadcaster. They will want to pick his mind about this.
Slowly he will admit his failings.

I know some question his integrity or expertise after being a loser in Detroit, but he is part of the good ol boy network, and if he can't manage or coach, some still think he has something to say based on his previous booth experience, so unless the fans in Detroit protest, you will probably see him for the next couple of weeks or as long as NBC is broadcasting playoff games this season.

The same holds true for Barkley, he may be missing for a week or so, but betcha he will be back on TNT before the end of the month because the media knows the public will tune into controversial figures....:loser:
