Instead of another half dozen Chauncey threads, and then a lateral move to multiple Sheed threads etc. etc. ad infinitum (until we all get to the point where none of us can feel really good about any of our Detroit Pistons:frusty: ,) I propose this as an offseason thread topic. Much more positive and fun to brainstorm about and discuss.

We came up with a pretty good definition of this in our What is Pistons DNA? thread the professor started. Tell us who you think might have threads of genetic material that belong to the Detroit Pistons.

Non-Pistons Who Might Have Pistons DNA

Also, should these guys even be allowed to play for these other teams? :)

Ohhh, Iverson. Good pick. I like Haslem too.

Don't really know enough about Charlie Bell.

I might add Mo Pete as well, although you Canadians probably see him more than I do.

I was trying to stay away from the MSU guys, but yeah, Mo Pete and Jason Richardson.

    ben wallace :P

I'd toss out Dwight Howard, Emeka Okafor. I find it easier to pick big men over guards. I really can't think of anyone except AI.

I'm gonna preface this post by saying that I know I will take abuse for it but....................

I think Darko Milicic HAS PISTON'S DNA.

Pistons DNA involves a TEAM FIRST ATTITUDE.

Darko was up on the bench CHEERLEADING for the starters despite NOT GETTING MINUTES.

When Darko got time, he was always willing to pass for the BEST SHOT. (anyone remember AMIR JOHNSON'S first Pro basket?)

Darko is a very unselfish passer.

Darko waited for 2+ years before saying too much junk in the media.

    Darko blocked shots.

Darko tried to play INSIDE when Larry Brown asked him to. (has Sheed ever done that?).

Darko didn't talk junk about the Pistons despite feeling slighted. He just stated over and over HE WANTED TO PLAY.

I find it difficult to believe that Darko wouldn't have been a great fit in Flip's offense. He can shoot, he can pass and he would help clog up the middle. It only leads me to believe that Ben may have had some sort of influence of how many minutes Darko was allowed. Ben's unwillingness to give up PT and allow Darko to develop ended Darko's time here in Detroit. Now we will see Orlando's young frontcourt kicking butt for years to come. Thanks alot you fool Ben.

Jack...i believe you are right on. Its been my feeling that Darko got a lot of grief because he didn't score. I watched him in Summer League and felt he spent all his time setting picks and looking for someone to pass to. However, I think his lack of passion disqualified him as having Piston DNA.
