That's absolutely false. As far as you know.
Looks like State and Main jumped into a playoff spot. Congrats! Looks like it's gonna go down to the wire between the Squirrels & Criminals for that last spot
Those are viagra. Don't ask me how I know. At least he died with a smile on his face.
BDL, You might have had a chance if the squirrels didn't STIFFEN UP in the clutch. Your guys were ready to go ALL NIGHT LONG and were equipped to SATISFY their fans, but even with all of that STIMULUS, they still CAME UP SHORT.
I guess they PREMATURELY EXTRAPOLATED that they had the 8 spot in the bag.
I crushed Misha in hockey last week , I see no reason why this isn't happening here too VAE VICTIS!
Ugggh. Here's today's Denver Post Sports section. I'm a little ashamed.
2009-2010 PFNFBL season recap and playoff preview: I think and hope it was a fun year for all involved! Here's a quick look back at the final standings and a look forward at the playoff matchups... 1) CJ's Coynesters (coynejeremy) CJ is breathing a huge sigh of relief after somehow avoiding a dreaded first-round Denver Squirrels matchup. He's still waiting for his "Regular Season Champion" trophy to arrive in the mail from the league office. He understands that shipping from Canada takes a little while. In a surprisingly good first season, GM CJ became so attached to wins, he ordered his Coynesters that ties were not acceptable and they had better either win or (if they dare) lose. As a result, they became the only team not to tie a single category this season. 2) Debt Team (detteam) Det was gracious enough early on to take over a team that needed an owner – apparently a DANG good team that needed an owner!! He fended off some furious competition to maintain second place in the closing weeks of the season. The playoff selection committee didn't do him any favors, though, with a tough path to the championship including an opening round matchup with Keweenaw's freethrowsbabys (see below) 3) Ballaholics (Mossberg) Ballaholics had a strong second half of the season (won 8 matchups, tied one, lost one) to move himself into third place and was a particularly strong challenger of Debt Team's second-place position. He will be a tough matchup for anyone this playoff season. 4) small ball fan (raxrets) smallballfan was anything but, finishing the season in second place in total rebounding and first in blocks, and boasting a front line of Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Andrea Bargnani, and [strike]Tayshaun Prince[/strike]Lamarcus Aldridge. That's 35 feet of big men! He should be looking forward to his opening round matchup with BK Kyiv, the only playoff team that he swept during the regular season. 5) BK Kyiv (mikhail1973) BK Kyiv had an up-and-down season, beating the teams he was supposed to handily (he won 6 or more categories in all but 2 of his 8 matchup wins) and staying under the radar for the most part. He just might have lulled smallballfan into a false sense of security. (The last I checked, rax benched Dwight Howard this week! He's either crazy or he's crazy smart) 6) State and Main (discotom) State and Main was the surprise of the season with a monster week against asleep-at-the-wheel (no pun intended) freethrowsbaby. Not only did his performance clinch a last-second playoff spot, he catapulted himself from 9th into 5th place after many had left him for dead. State and Main ended the season riding a 4-match win streak. Before that, his last win was against 1st place CJ's Coynesters. State and Main could prove to be a popular sleeper pick in this year's playoffs. 7) freethrowsbaby (hitafreethrow) As exhilarating as State's last month was, freethrowsbaby probably wishes he could have a do-over. After 5 losses over the first 16 weeks, his team suffered four straight defeats, the last of them being a 0-8 beatdown that pushed hita from 5th place to 7th place and a round one matchup against Debt Team, the team that he was trying to steal second place from for much of the second half of the season. Maybe next year he'll get his priorities straight and won't plan a road trip during the last week of the fantasy season 8) Smooth Criminals (aurora) Rounding out the playoff field is Smooth Criminals, who after a very emotional roller-coaster of a season highlighted by the off-again on-again semi-retirement of fan- and owner-favorite Allen Iverson, clinched the final playoff spot on the last day of the regular season. She will match up with CJ's Coynesters in the opening round of the 2010 playoffs, and will throw everything she has up her sleeve (including crowd-pleaser Luc Richard Mbah a Moute) at him in true Smooth Criminals fashion. Random uninterpretable stat of the season: Kim has the most tied categories of this year's playoff teams (5) against CJ's 0 ties. Runners-up: 9) Denver Squirrels (BallDon'tLie) The Denver Squirrels met an untimely demise in a series of unfortunate events that pushed them out of the playoffs after a highly entertaining, if at times bawdry, regular season. The Squirrels and their inspiring press clippings will be missed. Maybe the league can hire the Denver Post’s beat writer to cover the playoffs?... 10) Sandwich Microwaves (roscoe36) Despite his best attempts, the juggling of three fantasy basketball leagues, fantasy hockey, (and the running of the Pistonsforum website in his spare time) took its toll on our friendly forum admin and his Sandwich Microwaves. After finishing in 10th place, maybe he will finally fire Idiot Clueless Coach du Jour and hire Lee356 for next season. Roscoe does have the dubious distinction of winning this season's Lowest Turnovers Award. 11) Leicester Arsenal (Rocastle) Leicester Arsenal's foray from across the pond proved to be a good foreign exchange program, even if the team's win percentage was low. Visiting teams learned a great deal of new words, like aluminium, arse, and lots of really good swears. Hopefully he will be back next year. 12) Ryderz (Ryder) A rocky season for Ryderz. His team underwent relocation, an ownership change, and renaming. Fan support in the new arena was low, and team morale dwindled. Ryderz, we hardly knew thee. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
My team got better once Chris Paul was injured. Go figure.
nice recap Coyne-thanks. I don't know where that last performance came from (i'm state and main). I had been tweaking the lineup and finally found one that worked near the end there. I made a few bad choices in the draft, so I was glad to be able to make that run at the end. Now....it's anyone's game (which I know all too well when I had a dominating second place record last year and lost in the first round).
As far as I can tell the only reason I am in the Playoffs is because on Sunday night Deron, Grant Hill, Amare, Sheed, and Roy Hibbert managed to make free throws in the final games of the week. I know that when I went to bed last night I was utterly convinced that the Denver Squirrels would take over at the 8th playoff spot because BallDon'tLie had many more categories in play than I did in the waning hours. I had no cats in play, because FT% was a write off cat for me! So I was pleasingly surprised, but flabbergasted to see I was in. That said, now that I look at my lineup for my matchup with the #1 seed CJ's Coynesters...frankly, I really feel like going back to bed and praying for a much larger miracle than the one I woke up to today which was the modest accomplishment of the abovementioned freethrow shooters. Three of ten players on the Smooth Criminals have those cute little red injury flags next to their names. Ben Wallace is still out, status uncertain but not likely to play without a full practice which won't happen until Thursday. Grant Hill got a concussion during a game (!) and is questionable and Memo is having back spasms. Anyway, it would take a HUGE miracle to beat the Coynester's but it definitely will be a big ol' embarrassing slaughter without these three guys to make a contribution. It is nice to get to the dance, but all in all, I'd STILL rather be dancing with AI. (Dim the lights...turn the disco ball....fade out to the strains of Michael Jackson's "YOU ROCK MY WORLD"...)
Good playoff preview and season recap CJ.
Good thing you bought him out. This guy clearly does NOT have Squirrels DNA.
I'll be back. Really enjoyed this.
Happy you did Roc. We'll see you next season. Thanks for playing!!!
I can not believe that we are in the playoffs already, and near the end of the season. Seems like not too long ago we were drafting, and Roscoe's team looked decent! Had a great time this year, and looking forward to next. Everyone here is great, and I appreciate that. Now, a playoff win over State and Main would be the icing, and a league title would be the cherry!
Knock knock. You're playing Debt Team. Have a nice day.
Debt team is broke.
