I think auction draft sounds way fun. But it opens up big problems when guys who have done them before are in a league with a LOT of guys who haven't ever done one.

The first and only auction draft I've done was for the Fantasy Baseball league. It's a fun idea, but I like the 'ole snake draft. There is plenty of strategy there, IMO.

Saving the Squirrels
An 11th hour ownership group steps forward to help keep the team in Denver

Denver, CO; The uncertain future of the PFNFBL's Denver Squirrels became a little more certain last week as an ownership group headed by Mexican drug lord. Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman Loera was officially approved to become the majority owner of the Denver based team. The leader of the Sinaloa cartel is believed to be one of the largest suppliers of illegal drugs to the US.

"This is really big for us and will provide some sound financial backing for our young franchise" said Squirrels GM, BallDon'tLie in a press conference at the Denver Coliseum on Sunday. "El Chapo's leadership will be a welcome addition to the team and his billionaire status will help us make improvements to our overall fan experience".

When the Squirrels' GM was informed of some of the details on how the new ownership group had rose to prominence, BallDon'tLie added, "I've never taken any cocaine or whatever, ...but from the looks of it, I might have to check it out. I hear that it can be really addicting!"

Head Coach Rufus Henry expressed his enthusiasm for the new ownership situation. "Hell yeah we be 'fo dis mang! Dat mutha(expletive) gots lots of chedda fosho! I gotta belee dat I be gettin a FAT raise mang!" Henry went on to add; "We gonna have da green to be mean, ya-heard!(?)"

The sale is being finalized by league officials and the transfer of ownership is likely to take place prior to Squirrels training camp.

More Squirrels' business news: The Denver Squirrels have picked up a new title sponsor for the 2010/11 season. Denver based Medical Marijuana Dispensary, Karmaceuticals has announced a partnership with the Denver Squirrels that will make it the primary sponsor for the Squirrels and the Denver Coliseum.

An anonymous representative of the Denver based pot club issued a statement early on Monday saying; "We are excited to be affiliated with the Denver Squirrels and believe that the team and its players are a perfect fit to represent our emerging business. This is a marketing match made in ...what the heck was I saying?"

Karmaceuticals joins Mickey's Malt Liquor, ShamWow, and Kmart as title sponsors for the 2010/2011 season.

If you end up needing somebody to round it out... I can help, I have never done well at building a basketball team. Take anybody other then me first lol

I'd like to see Lee get a team. He would have fun generating rotations, keeping guys fresh for the playoffs, etc.

I will be back on the case for this league this weekend.

We will be doing a snake draft as we have people in Europe participating, and it will be a nightmare to run an auction with less than half of the league present.

More details to follow. I do want a 12th. Whoever PMs me first gets the spot.

Any chance of getting a vote for the possible draft dates? Maybe a weeknight after 9, or a weekday during the day? Or weekend, earlier in the day? I'm just so busy every evening (except Wednesday), it would make it hard to get to a draft. I realize other people are busy too, just wanted to open a possible discussion about it.
