To add to that irony, in the first Novice league a couple years ago, Roscoe had a top four contending team. He traded for Ron Artest, and before the trade even cleared through Yahoo, there was the brawl at the Palace. Artest didn't play for Roscoe and Roscoe's team plunged to the bottom of the standings.

So Artest owed him one.

Good luck to the finalists. A few of my guys just fell apart during the last couple of days and that knocked me out of the finals.
As a side note for the future competition - maybe we should think about shortening the season. Teams that already locked in their seeds are sitting out some of the players. I didn't get affected this time, but some people did. And when you're talking about people like Garnett, Chauncey, etc. it takes a heavy toll on the games.

The commissioner cannot control when the season ends.

It's a factor in basketball. They end the football season early. Hockey and baseball teams don't sandbag in the end.

It's just one of those things, but yeah, it can kill a good basketball team.

With hockey, a couple of players sitting out a game doesn't hurt your team. In football there are only 16 games, so anyone sitting out the game is extremely rare if at all exists. Basketball is a different animal, but if that's how Yahoo has it then that's the way it is.

Actually, football teams that have clinched their playoff spot DO commonly rest their star players to prevent injury. That's why football ends a couple weeks before the regular season.

Hockey teams play everyone to the end to keep them sharp. Same with baseball, although pitchers can get shut down early if they have any problem at all.

Basketball is the one fantasy sport where I've seen healthy players benchings cause big problems.

So why is it that only me and ballers got their rosters locked?

Anyway, like Mchale shaking hands with Isiah after Boston finally got beat, go on and win it all Ros!

Be careful. You don't want to give my team bulletin board material.

Slippy, why did you just pm me to say

"Darth, Bill's team doesn't even know how to read or write, so why should I care about giving him bulletin board material?" ???

This Novice League is all about the ring! Once you were defeated in the playoffs, I locked the add/drop option, so that teams still fighting it out for #1 couldn't pick up your castoffs.

For you non-leaguers, Roscoe & Bill are in a dogfight of a match-up for all-the-marbles with Bill currently up 4-3:

    __________Roscoe____Bill
    FG%_______.480_____.478
    FT%_______.800_____.818
    3pt_________23_______24
    Pts________339______344
    Reb________142______128
    Ast_________82_______66
    Stl_________21_______21
    Blk_________11_______15
    TO_________43_______43

Good luck to both of you :)

edit: can anyone explain how to paste data in spreadsheet form to a post?

Why do you need to set your lineup? Just ask Roscoe how it works.

Actually, that's bull. How are you even supposed to play if you can't set your lineup? This is called changing the rules within the game.
Commish needs to be brought up on charges of conspiracy.

Oh, I didn't realize that. I thought I just locked it down so that you couldn't add/ drop players.

I'm not sure how I did that, but I do apologize.
