Hmmm. Perhaps a Jackson for Artest trade. My team needs an edge.

Not sure if losing the FG% cat by 0.001 (and the week 5-4) to Slippy with four guys shooting below 40% (three below 35%) is a testament to the resiliency of the Sprockets or to the utter incompetence of the Infirmary.

Course, with Kidd nearly averaging a triple double, and piling up 65 points, 45 boards, and 42 assists, I can forgive his 37% shooting.

OMG!! you had this week until ben wallace missed a few shots. it was crazy seeing the FG% fluctuate just .005%...victory...defeat...victory....defeat...man. and i left 50% shooting bargs on the bench.

Ben at least pulled out 0.500 last night, but if Hinrich could have come up with something better than three for eleven...

Oh well, at least they're not falling on each other and breaking each other's legs.

What a lousy way to start the week. With Chris Paul out for 1 or 2 games, I must already concede the assist cat to Slippy:gaah:

you'd think with Mo williams backing up Steve Nash and Joe Johnson waiting in the wings, I'd be strong in Assists but dba went all roughshod over my ASS..ists category. It wasn't even pretty...or gentle.

My team is off to a worse start than the Sonics. Yuck. I'm hoping this young team will gell very soon, or it's trade city!

I'm pretty sure one of those guys is one of our neighbors in Tennessee.

Man oh Man those are some daunting stats for me in the Novice Stats thread. Thank for posting them. I have no idea what to do with my team now. I guess being a "Zookeeper" GM (see an earlier Slippy post about Fantasy GM styles) has its downfalls.

I only drafted from 12 teams that I picked to follow before the season started. I only drafted players I would be willing to watch their games on League Pass. I only drafted either players that were "proven" Aurora pet players (Deron), or "breakout" sleeper pet players (Darko). And finally, I only drafted players that I would recognize and invite in for a drink if they showed up at my door needing jumper cables.

Clearly, this is no way to play Fantasy Basketball and be competitive. :pound::nerd2:

Of course now that I've had a few weeks of "playing like a girl (I just want to love all my players and love my team)" and can see the writing on the wall (the projected cat losses on the butcher block chart on the kitchen wall), I want to go back to "playing like a boy (as in Winning is Everything)."

My team sitting on the bench before and during each game, well they look pretty fine. But...they aren't up to the category specs. Now if I only had a free pass on the waiver wire Linwood, I could make my team competitive even now. I could switch out about half of my guys for category needs. But...live with the pet players, die with the pet players. LOL.

Good Luck Novice League GMs on Week 3!!! Go Darko (yes I know he has a hurt thumb...sigh). Go Darko anyway!

Kim, you could switch out your players via the waiver wire, you just have to do it judiciously. Grab the players when you need them, and hope they are tearing it up that week. I think you should be able to pick two a week, which should allow you to improve two catagories and eke out the win.

My team on the other hand seems to be uniformly terrible. Hopefully I can figure something out quick before I have tanked the season in the first few weeks, ala the Sonics.

My advanced team is in 2nd to last place (out of 16 teams)and I keep getting injuries and DNP's. Would you be terribly offended if I changed my name from "Mashed Potatoes" to "Darth's Linwoods"? :sssh:

it ain't over until the scores are set...
this year it seems like they got a lot of little tech glitches. I'd wish you a little good luck, but i gotta save that for myself! .001 ft% is way too close!!

Finally, a team that shoots worse than the Sprockets. Even including Boozer's 71% for the week against us.

Can I play Linwood every week?
