If this coach doesn't work out maybe Tommy Heinsohn can help them out next time.

I agree. I wouldn't trust someone who's only job it is to win championships if he can't even spell it.

This is as close to Harry Redknapp as anyone will ever be.

Did all the Pistons assistants get shat-canned when Lil' Larry did or are they all coming back? You'd figure Detroit would be a hot spot for top assistants given the Pistons quick trigger with their head guys.

Instead of picking over the scraps in free agency for a bargain the Pistons will go that route with their coaches.

The waiting is killing me.. I want Shaw over Cheeks or McMillan... But I've read rumours about Shaw going to Clippers or Nets.

Well if all three teams are courting you, and you are a disciple of Phil "I only coach teams with a super guard" Jackson, you probably choose the LA Chris Pauls or the Brooklyn Deron Williamses....All we have here are Detroit Knightly-Stucco's.....

Was he drunk or deliberatly trying show how hard it is to type with 11 championship rings? One of the best first tweets ever.

Nuggets lets coach of the year, George Karl, walk away.

I wouldn't mind him... He haven't coached a team to a losing record since 1988.

If Shaw doesn't already have the job, all this waiting (i.e. patience :bored: ) is pointless.

Actually, I would take George Karl as well.

So...Hollins, Karl, Laimbeer, Jeff Van Gundy  ....4...3 better options than what we're currently considering. I don't care if people think Hollins won't come here...I still think you make that phone call. Shaw hasn't even interviewed...so clearly he's not a candidate. Has has to get at least 2 1/2 more of those before he starts looking like a serious contender. The writing will be on the wall if Mo Cheeks gets that all important 4TH interview...

I'm down with The Low's list (ranked in order of personal preferance):\
    1. Laimbeer
    2. Karl
    3. Hollins
    4. the current coach of the SMU Mustangs along with an heir apparent assistant for when he eventually leaves Detroit.

Wow, the Karl firing was a surprise. It is quite ironic to receive the top award for your job and subsequently get fired.

The Kroenke family (Stan, Josh, etc.) are some fly by the seat of their pants types. They act before they think a lot of the time.
They claim that the decision was made because Karl wasn't happy.
...well, now the entire team isn't happy.
The Nuggs players really liked Karl (as well as Denver's GM who just left for Toronto).

Now would be a great time to pounce on their roster if there are any Nuggets that Joe would like to sign/trade for.
I'd be flooding Corey Brewer's in-box with Birmingham and Clarkston real estate listings.
Joe needs to talk to Iggy and gauge what kind of contract he's looking for.

Is there a package that we could put together for Kenneth Faried? (BK + whoever they want us to pick @ #8 for Farried and their 1st rounder?)
...The Manimal is pretty pissed right now.

I love Faried, but where do you plan to use him? Off the bench?

The Pistons will win a ton of games and the box-scores will look like girls Junior High school basketball games.

He would definitely upgrade of SF position....over Singler and the potential use of Knight or Stuckey there.
