Mark Stein says that Minny gave him the four-year deal he wanted, for $25M, and the Mavs and Rockets only offered him three years. He's pretty old to be having a breakout year, and it makes you wonder what Minny is getting. If he plays a few more years at last season's level, it's a steal.

That's a pretty high-strung team with Mike and Garnett playing together. The time-outs should be funny with them yelling at everybody.

This is awesome. James won't give up the ball in the clutch to KG. Should make for lots of drama.

If we can get Ron Artest and Jerry Stackhouse traded there, it will be like the 4th of July...

Just throw LB, and Stephon in there along with Stack, Ronny, Mike, and KG and you'll have yourself a July 4th.....1776.:)

Some articles today were saying that Indy has the inside track on both Al and Bonzi. Not sure if they can swing both, but that's the bones of a pretty good team.

Seems as if ECF teams are vultures circling a thirsty but crawling desert dweller (Pistons) at this point. Miami is still beatable and now that the Pistons have lost Ben, I think a lot of ECF GMs smell blood. Should be an interesting race next season.

Be like Bron? Dwyane Wade is expected to sign a three-year deal with a player option for a fourth season, following in the foot steps of King James.
Above article is from ESPN... Didn't Carmello sign something like that too?

San Antonio has signed Jacque Vaughn, and have given offers to Fransisco Elson and Jackie Butler.

Yeah they did just draft Dee Brown and Ronnie Brewer. They also have Deron Williams from last years draft. I guess they must have wanted a veteran guard, because all the rest of these guys are draft choices or rookies, including CJ Miles I think.

Spurs still trying to get Nuggets Francisco Elson and Knicks Jackie Butler. They dont think Nuggets will let Elson go, and think Knicks wont match Spurs offer for Butler.

And thats all the news from dirty river.

From Mike Monroe, SA Express News:
The Spurs also have replaced Nick Van Exel with Jacque Vaughn, a hard-working 31-year-old with a perimeter shot reminiscent of Avery Johnson's. That means it is anything but reliable, but slightly less frightening than Van Exel's heaves were by the time the playoffs ended.

    His comment on Mav's moves:
"Start with the Mavericks who would have won the championship in June had they not imploded, done in by self-pity and panic. The most significant off-season occurrence for Mavs thus far was failing to talk free agent guard Mike James into Joining their quest for a title. Despite a personal appeal by Avery Johnson, James is headed for Minn."

He thinks moves by other West teams are not going to affect Spurs, at least enough to force Spurs to make some outrageous move.

Paul Pierce signed a three-year, $59 million contract extension that keeps him in Boston through the 2010-11 season.
