I do not dislike Tay, but his regression doesn't seem to fit very well in today's NBA.

I watched some highlight clip over the summer from 04-05ish and noticed Tay mean mugging the crowd after a dunk. I miss that.

Tay had to put that stuff in his little suitcase to make the Olympic team as 12th man

If Tayshaun Prince is your 4th leading scorer/option on offense, then you are a championship caliber team. If Tay is your 3rd option, you're playoff team, If he's your #2 player (like he was for us last season) then you're headed to or you're already in the lottery. Tay is, what he is, 12-14ppg and 5/6rpg-period, if you need him to be more than that, you're setting yourself up.

I think with this lineup, if everything goes according to plan Tay could very well be our 6th leading scorer #1-Rip, #2-Gordon, #3-CharlieV #4Will, #5-Stuck, and then #6-Tay. But things could very well go wrong and well......The more I look at this we should have 6 players avg double figures, if we can muster up something that even remotely resembles defense, it should be a decent season.

This is a great point. The Pistons don't necessarily have to rid themselves of Prince. They just can't depend on him for more than what he is capable.

    A possible metaphor might be:
Don't expect the player with the smallest luggage to carry such a big load.

Tay carries the team like a fannypack carrying a refrigerator.

Think about it, how long have we been waiting for Tayshuan Prince, 20PPG, All-Star SF to show up........But on this team he can become the 4th/5th option on the offensive end because we have at least 4 other guys (Rip, BenG, Will, CharlieV) that LOVE to score the ball.

Maybe so but - just throwing this out there. BG, Stuckey and maybe even Prince for Chris Paul + change sounds a lot more realistic than Sheed and Dyess for him.

while reading the thread it appears that Big ben and wilcox will work decently. But Kwame i dont know if he is enough to be describe as a
Serviceable big man in the NBA. Maybe on a hell hole league. He cant even pass as a big man in the euro league.. so to hell with him. I dunno with this guy hes nothing but a tall clown!!! Well I hate to say it but I guess the only player we can use to treade is Rip....any idea? But at least we got rid of a punk name AI....So for JOe stop scratching your b...llsss do somethig before the trade deadline!!!

Pop always had the big advantage of stakeholder buy-in: as coach and GM.

Everyone picks the grapes because they are there and it feeds the family. It does wonders for those living on the edge and knowing that two things are evident: be happy for the gift of good land and the wonder of spending time working with it. The bonus is given a dual outcome: you have advanced the pragmatic abiliity to live another day and tomorrow is yet another one.

Perhaps the Pistons would have one less 'ship if they had Melo. :stirthepot:

all this "could, would, should" talk may be interesting but for me it is no more than "grass is greener on the other side" mentality.

You just had to go there, didn't you. One day some over zealous-lunatic Piston fan will be watching a game where Prince has the ball in the post for 20 out of the 24 seconds, we'll lose, they'll snap, then smash his/her T.V., go into their closet, pull out their hunting rifle, gas up the F-150 (or Silverado) and head straight to NewYork in search of Darko and Tony Ranzone.

Thank you for talking me out of my Silverado.
