Mo is going to have all the tricks for stopping these guys. Hopefully Smith can shutdown Durant like he did Paul George tonight.

So not funny! But Smith REALLY struggles chasing guys around off the ball and closing out on shooters, he really doesn't like doing it.

I hope JSmoove fares better posting up KD than he did Paul George. George gave him NOTHING!

Also I'm terrified thinking about Jennings trying to deal with Westbrook, would much rather see KCP or even Stuckey get that assignment.

Stuckey has traditionally fared well against Westbrook. I think it was just in the last year or two that Westbrook finally had a good game against the Pistons. A strong showing by Rod tonight could keep him in the lineup for weeks!!! His strong or non-putrid outings apparently count like cat years.

OKC matches up pretty well against the front line because they can hide Ibaka on Drummond and have Perkins (Is he still playing?) cover Monroe.

I'd start the same 5 as last game. (I'm just presuming there that KCP won't be allowed.)

Some of the matchups in this game are interesting. (Funny, ...seems like the Pistons haven't had interesting matchups for several years.)
I hope that Maurice comes to his senses and plays Pope over Rodney. I'd like to see Pope check Westbrook.

Seems like Rodney would be a good pickup for OKC to bring off of their bench.

Once again, I may miss a part of this game. Another Friday, another potential client to have dinner with - a Mr. Gorney.

Mr, Gorney is sure to bring our Pistons luck against the formidable foes from OKC.
Kendrick Perkins plays the game with absolutely no honor. I envision a situation where young Andre Drummond teaches this cheating man a valuable lesson about winning in a dignified manner.

Mr. Gorney will become a cosmic Pistons fan once he lays into the veal cutlet, green salad and praline pie.

7 reasons why the Pistons will win tonight.

    Better front line.

Jennings actually practicing with the team.

Billups two days rest might have the ability to make an outside shot.

Coach wises up and plays Pope

Coach wises up and plays Mitchell

Stuckey read the riot act about passing the ball instead of pretending to be a super collider

Billups, Pope, Stuckey, and Jennings do so good, coach forgets to play Bynum

And 7, us Piston fans deserve to get to watch a good quality win.

    GO PISTONS!!!!!

can't see why we play billups so much while not even 1 minuet for pope so far
also, should definitely go more for monroe and ease down with the 3's

    on okc's side:
    - lol at brook saying he's easing up playing style
    - that Adams guy has a nice touch

I wish we ran more pick-n-roll offense. It seems like our style of play is "post-up or 3". It's stupid because we are most effective when we move the ball.

OKC is a class ahead of the Pistons right now. Detroit simply did not have players that could defend the Thunder.

    Why we lost.

Coach is still playing a bench front line of Singler, and Datome, with Monroe of all people. Anybody notice these 3 hung a sign up, "Special Today!!! - Shoot Until You Score!!! - Offensive Rebounds Guaranteed!!!!" And they honored their guarantee. A total joke of a front line out there.

Bynum is still playing. He looked pretty horrid at times, especially on defense. But in his defense, look at the preceding paragraph. The unit he was playing with was truly rancid. Only some scoring by Stuckey made our bench look in the least bit acceptable. As far as team play from our bench, absolutely zero.

But the worst thing about Bynum playing, it just messes up our rotations badly. We got Billups only playing shooting guard. Ditto for Stuckey. They pushed Pope into playing out of position for sure for this game at small forward. There is no room for Bynum on this team.

I pin this loss on Dumars. As usual, the stuff that does not work - is being repeated by yet another coach. How can it not be Dumars at this point? No coach can give an excuse that he is trying out what works at this point. He could have asked Dumars, if Dumars was paying any attention. Unfortunately, I believe its not the coach not asking questions, its the answers Dumars is giving him. Play Singler. Play JJ. Play Bynum. Play Datome. None of these guys should be on the team. Since its Dumars who has them on the team, again, its his loss. But our new coach played these guys, so its on him too.

Still no Mitchell. This game screamed for Mitchell. When any of our bigs sat, Mitchell could have come in and we would still have a front line that can defend. PS, yes, why did Drummond sit the last of the game out? He had 4 fouls, not 6.

Drummond was negative for this game, as he was primarily the big who stayed out there with our horrid bench unit. (Monroe did get victimized too.) Nobody can make a front line work that includes the likes of Singler and Datome.

Smith hit a few threes, did some work inside, and even hit a pull up J. Good night for him. Jennings got it geared up too. Billups was our highest plus guy, even though he only hit one shot. At least the other team was giving him defensive attention. If Billups had hit a couple of shots, we could have took a solid lead in this game at one point. It is disappointing that Billups missed all those shots, but remember, he is an older player, coming off an injury, and barely played in the preseason. To expect much better, just might be wishful thinking.

And Monroe, an awesome night. A 20 - 15 game. Our team can definitely compete with Oklahoma. Just give us a bench that is not totally incapable from stopping the other team from scoring.

If you exclude FTs, we beat them 89-80. Not what you would expect. We hit more 3's and at a higher percentage. So, we lost, but we certainly weren't dominated. Durant had 19 freebies.

Also, it was strange that Drummond fouled out in the 3rd quarter with 4 fouls while it took 4 quarters for Smith and Singler to foul out with 6 each. That is a lot of fouling... REFs. Nice home court advantage.

Chauncey, Singler, and Bynum had pretty miserable outings. Smith and Jennings were fun to watch. Moose was grinding hawd.

Stuckey is fitting in nicely with what we're trying to do. He seems confident in his role off the bench.
