Since that attack, Tanya Harding's history is pretty sordid. What a girl!
this is the 2nd game in a row that i've attended where i didn't feel the pistons were in any real danger of losing the game (unless the magic tied or gained the lead which never happened...seems to be a mental hurdle they cannot get past). i met some friends at halftime and we chatted out in the concourse during the 3rd quarter while the magic were making their run...which brings me to the most important stat of the night. the pistons were +15 when i was in my seat and -9 when i wasn't. i'll take game MVP honors, thank you very much. i loved the 3 possession stretch where max abused the magic. amir looked solid again. stuck forced a few times but i like the aggressiveness. it's funny reading some of the magic forums - they are simply delusional about their team. that team has no leader and is soft overall. roscoe was right about poise - we had it with billups and we have it with stuckey. orlando simply doesn't have it, and as a result they will never get past a team with poise in the playoffs. as for who to bring off the bench, i say rip. i'll elaborate more in a different post, but there were still times last night where AI was with the bench group and we needed another scorer. AI can still create for himself but he still missed some easy bunnies and he would do well with having another jumpshooter to kick the ball to.
what ever they do to get max ready to play the magic... bottle it, it was refreshing to see max breaking the glass in the china shop last night. Unless the team were playing is really big at the 3, I still think that bring Prince off the bench is the best option of the 3. I like having him in the game to control the offense when Stuckey is out. The question is when was the last time we had a pg that attacked the glass so hard on the offensive end... I can't see how you can't be falling in love with this kids hustle and effort.
The responding officer's report described her as "agitated", her story as "very implausible", and recorded her frustration that others couldn't see the people she saw. Yeah, I know how that is...
The police must roll their eyes when they get their bi-annual call from her. Nobody has that much crime happen to them.
Rip is a mid range shooter. I'm sorry. I'm nitpicking, but the influx of trade Rip for a one year rental is driving me nuts. Agreed Agreed --------- Did everyone forget how good Rip is? How he carried us in the PO's vs this very same magic team; how he's been our clutchest performer throughout the PO's? how when everybody else was having meltdowns, he was there being his mostly consistent scoring self ? Did he not just keep us in the game vs CLE mere months ago which provided a shot at even having a comeback in the 1st place? The grass is not always greener on the other side especially when it's pretty damn green over here to begin with.
I want him to retire as a Piston.
I agree with you to an extent, but i don't think it's that set in stone. LOL
You'll notice that there have been a lot of comments about how AI could come off the bench. If that's not a compliment to Rip, then I don't know what is. That's like saying a 32 year old Wilt Chamberlain should come off the bench for Sheed. The problem is that we have 2 starter worthy SG's. Possible options include the following: Small ball- Bench AI- Bench Rip- (MC)Trade Rip- All options sort of stink for one reason or another. That's why we are debating them.
i get that, but in the analysis i feel like alot of people are just throwing Rip under the bus. But i agree it's a tough situation with probably no "right" answer. And i love your illustrations BTW lmao
That is actually an option I didn't think of. We could just throw him under the bus. That would allow AI to play his game and AA could log plenty of minutes at the 2. I think it would open up a certain %age of the salary cap too... maybe 100% of his salary.
I dislike you very much right now LOL j/k
What a great thread: Gillooly didn't wheeld the pipe, I just didn't get the infurence. Amir fouls blow by blow--> wonderful. All I know is Nelson and DHo came in here with numbers in the sky and left here with 27 total. That's about 1/2 their normal total. DHo did take a few boards from Amir.
Sheed definitely played some patient, positional defense on Howard. Good to know that he is capable of doing so. I'm really curious in how Kwame would have held his position. Can't believe we didn't test it out.
Both teams did have elongated brick stints. We out shot them too.
HEY!!! WE WON THIS GAME!
Lies how could we have won? don't play around like that..... your such a big kidder..... folks get back to complaining about our 1000th straight lose
And trying to decide between 2 all-star SG's is a great problem to have. If you are going to have a problem - this is a nice one to have. Even AA would be starting on some teams.
