Roscoe wouldn't like him...he only likes nice Rubens...what about Ruben Boumtje Boumtje? He seemed nice.
I heard that No Dwight tonight?.. and maybe No Ryan Anderson neither? We may have a true shot at this..
Then we should up 10 at the half instead of 3?? I didn't see the first half, so I won't past any judgement since Stuck is still out too.
Orlando players are still far more rounded than ours. Lets not forget we are killing BK with so many minutes
Pretty good game. Got a little closer than desired at the end, but the outcome was never in doubt, and the Pistons led by as many as 13. Gave up a good game for Big Baby (talk about baby - 280+ pounds and he was the one who stayed on the floor after contact from 6'3, 190 pound Brandon Knight. Brave move btw, getting in the way of a guy nearly 100 pounds heavier) who had 31 points. Are we seeing a renewed interest in the team? Granted it wasn't a full house, but that was a pretty lively crowd out there, a far cry from the dead atmosphere from earlier in the season. Greg had a hell of a game, his best game since the one against the Kings offensively to lead all Piston scorers with 22 and 11 boards, another double double. He got pretty much everything he wanted inside with no Dwight Howard to protect the paint for the Magic, and he shot well over 50% from the floor, 9 for 11. Had another coast to coast basket after a steal in the third quarter as well. BG back in the lineup, and he started hot but got cooled off a bit by foul trouble (sat for LONG time after picking up his 4th foul). He finished with 18 points and 7 assists. He was doing a good job finding cutters to the basket all night. His defense still left a lot to be desired though. Brandon played well, shooting just under 50%, 5 of 12 from the field for 11 points to go with 4 assists. He played at SG a lot in the second half (didn't take a shot all of the third quarter) after sitting for less than a minute of game time after BG picked up his 4th foul in the third quarter and played 42 minutes total, well more than anyone else on the team. I applaud him for trying to take a charge from Glen Davis, but that was scary; dude's got 100 pounds on him. Had a great alley oop try that would've been even more impressive if it had gone down. Highlight reel worthy. JJ had a good game with his dad in the audience, the best of the bench scorers once again with 13 points. Bynum played pretty well, didn't force things much (except for that ugly 1 on 4 in the second quarter) and scored 6 with 5 assists. Wilkins was ok, but was a non-factor on offense. Max started really well, hitting on dunks and jumpers in the first quarter and rebounded the ball pretty well. He got in foul trouble though and was limited to just 25 minutes. Big Ben was solid as expected and grabbed 6 boards in 14 minutes. Tayshaun did well too, continuing his streak of good scoring games with 15 on very good 7 of 11 from the field. BG being back = DNP-CD for Austin Daye. His not playing also = Brandon playing heavy minutes due to BG in foul trouble. BK's played more than anyone on the team since Rodney's been out, certainly in the last two games, despite having Daye around to sub in at SG if he so desired. Back in the doghouse for Mr. Daye it seems. Good win, though it wasn't the most exciting game. Bad game for the tankers, but with D12, Nelson AND Anderson out, it was a pretty difficult game to lose. We've beaten this team when 100% healthy after all. The Pistons looked like they had the advantage most of the time and capitalized on the absence of Dwight Howard to score 56 points in the paint, 20 points more than the Magic usually allow on average. The Pistons are now 16-13 after the woeful 4-20 start.
Good recap Alexa....I saw most of second half, but turned away a few times to watch Baylor-Notre Dame and the results shows for DWTS and The Voice. Although close in the third, I figured the Pistons would pull it out.... Big Baby was sitting in the FA pool in the Advanced Fantasy league for the last few days and no one picked him up until 15 mins when Laims claimed him....dude has scored 49 pts and pulled down 26 boards filling in for Superman the past two games. He single handedly kept the Magic in it.
I fell asleep in the halftime.. never woke up to see the end of the game.. Great Win! What I could have won? :(
6 players in double digits, this was a vintage Pistons win. Which I called. On the poll. Oh yeah. Boxscore
