they make me blue...and red!
We went to the post 10 times last night, and here were the results:
Dre missed rim on lefty hook over JMax
Smith turned ball over dribbling into paint
Monroe missed point blank righty hook (Dre dunked back in)
Monroe makes after a really nice move
Dre gets by man and misses point blank reverse
Monroe makes- baseline spin and reverse lay in
Stuckey misses badly on fade away
Smith turns ball over passing cross court out of post
Stuckey misses fade away after getting double teamed
Jerebko makes nice move and draws foul
Dre: 0-2 (with a save on Monroe's miss)
Smith: 0-0 with 2 turnovers
Jerebko: 0-0, got fouled
10 trips to the post and 5 points.
We did really well in transition though, scoring 13 times on ones that I'll classify as true transition buckets:
Here were the key plays that led to our transition points:
Smith block. BJ pushed and threw alley oop to Dre.
Dre steal leads to KCP layup.
BJ pushed hard after ORL miss and got all the way to hoop (Monroe tapped in miss)
BJ pushed after missed dunk by JMax set us up. BJ ran break well.
BJ pushed hard through traffic after normal miss and got to the rim.
BJ steal and set up teammate (KCP?) in 2 on 1.
Smith with long outlet pass to Moose, who quickly dropped off to cutting BJ for layup.
Smith with a heads up pass to Moose in the post before the defense was set up for lay in.
Smith with a rumbling keeper where he got fouled and made the running bank shot.
BJ with a pull up 3-point make.
BJ steal, quick pass to Jorts, quick pass to Singler for lay up.
BJ pushes and gets tear drop in lane.
Jorts blocks shot and quickly outlets. Singler gets fouled on lay up.
Smith with 4 key plays
Jennings was highly involved in 9 of them, being the catalyst on most
I gotta say, this is where Jennings is best IMO. He really flies down the court and converts most of his steals into quick points for us.
What happens when he doesn't end up with a steal?
That's not a big deal since he has the World's largest front court unit to deter entry into the paint. They just need another 40 games or so to get comfortable.
