By the way, Orlando's success rest squarely on Grant Hill's health. If he returns to form, Orlando has an opportunity to be good quickly. If not, they will struggle. They've obviously got one step closer to respectability clearing cap space and building a nice young nucleus. Great job by the Orlando front office.

    Re: i disagree

Who on this forum remembers the Chicago Bulls after MJ? They were very-very deep under the salary cap, perennial losers with good draft picks. They couldn't get anybody good to sign with them and it took them how many years before they made the playoffs only to get bounced in the 1st round? With the exception of the Orlando Magic that had a young Shaq and Penny it is very rare a team of this much inexperience goes anywhere (don't forget that magic team also had an older Horace Grant and Nick Anderson).
Though they will be under the salary cap they must be careful because DHoward will be excepting a max deal and if my some miracle Dorko rises above last night's DNP and makes something of himself he will also require a significant pay hike.

darko did have a good game yesterday. he had 2 blocks, 8 points on 3-4 from the field and 2-2 from the line. he had 5 boards, and 1 assist too in 22 minutes.

The problem with the bulls after MJ was how they treated their players when they went into rebuilding mode. Imagine winning a title this year and cutting ben loose cuz we need to stay competative in the long haul and Ben's gotten older.

They'll get a good pick this year. If they get anything resembling a chris paul effect, they'll be contending for a playoff spot. Last nights game against Seattle was a bad meter becasue Seattle played seven guys. However, magic fans were talking about the great ballmovement orlando was doing. Darko and Carlos are having a good effect on the team. And steve's departure if helping too.

orlando has a slight chance to get in. mailwaukee has struggled, and are now in 8th seed. i think the only team in the east that has a good chance to make it that isn't right now is chicago. orlando very well could make it though.

orlando will make the play offs. If it wasn't for the dog on the playoff seeding that the commish has set up they would be ahead of the atlantic division leader. Is New Jersey Atlantic??

What is this "dog" that you are talking about? I must have missed something.

The Magic may not even make the playoffs. Riley has been pleading with Shaq to give it an honest go for the remainder of this year and the Dirty Knickers are responding to Zeke's leadership. LOL

Milwaukee without Michael Redd, who is injured, is worse than the Piston without C-Bill, and we all know how bad the Pistons played when C-Bill was out. Milwaukee's playoff fortunes if they have any rests on Redd's return before the Bucks are totally out of it.

With the Magic loss tonight they are 1.5 games out of lotto territory... with the Heat coming on strong...
We want teams like the Clips, Denver & Golden State to win.

Orlando is gonna have to make a deal in the next couple weeks.

Since Darko is now clearly better than Howard, perhaps the Magic will trade Dwight for Nazr.

I dunno man... have to think about that one for a second...tick ...done.

My guess is Arroyo will be traveling soon (unless the Puerto Ricans are paying for his new quality pine time)... he's back to shooting like he did here, except he doesn't share the ball much either.

The Magic need to stop worrying about winning now, and start worrying about letting Dwight learn how to dominate. Man-child logged all of 9 field goal attempts tonight (he made all 9), and went to the charity stripe 7 times. Basically, he attempted 12 shots in total. Hedo Turkoglu took 16, Darko took 11, and Jameer Nelson and Keith Bogans each took 8 shots. Dwight should be getting no fewer than 15 attempts per game. I wonder if his play was limited in the first half by foul trouble or something.
