Bit of a stretch. However, the depth of organizational perceptive is weak. This is from Howard Beck:
This is the way the smart franchises operate in the luxury tax era: spend wisely, use draft picks prudently, develop young players, value your assets. And when you hit a dead end, cash out and start over.

Siva struggled today going 1-for-9 and minus-10 as NBA executives looked on in the Las Vegas showcase.

The Pistons have recalled rookies Peyton Siva and Tony Mitchell from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.

Siva, a guard, averaged 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.6 steals in five games with Fort Wayne. Mitchell, a forward, averaged 6.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in six games.

I doubt Singler puts up 6.8 ppg in the D-League.

Actually, Singler is averaging 8.4 ppg in the NBA this season. I'm sure if you really watched the games closely, though, his true average is only 4.8 ppg.

pistonpowered gave some mid-season grades for Siva, Mitchell and Harrellson. Siva didn't fare too well:

They didn't give him credit for his numerous AOTG.

Why does Mitchell get so much better grades than Siva?

Ouch! That's a brutal assessment. The writer must not know how tall Siva is.

I really like Siva, I think he's one of those college guys who goes hard and plays smart, but that doesn't necessarily translate to the next level. Just ask this guy:

That guy was actually demonstrating proper shooting technique in the Pistons pre-game show the other night....at that point I knew we'd hit rock bottom.

Because he is taller and can play SG-SF-PF and C. Siva is strictly a guard.

Because Mitchell needs band-aids on his forehead, after hitting his head on the rim, when going for a rebound, and Monroe needs nail-clippers. Both breathe the rarefied air of mountain tops.
Likewise, Siva...which in a mad, mad world, rhymes with diva(s): a Donnie Darko time traveler that made a decision switch on a life projection that made things right for everyone.

    Senior Year:
    • Among the BIG EAST leader in assists (5.7, third; 28th in the nation), free throw percentage (.867, second), steals (2.3, third; 25th in the nation) and assists-turnovers ratio (2.16, 6th). His 5.7 assists average was the 2nd-highest ever at UofL.
    • Averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.1 steals in nine postseason games. He was a Final Four All-Tournament and All-Midwest Region selection.
    • In the national championship game vs. Michigan, he totaled 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals with just two turnovers.
    • BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an All-BIG EAST third team pick.
    • MOP of the BIG EAST Championship, just the second player in BIG EAST history to win the award twice (Georgetown's Patrick Ewing is the other). Siva averaged 11 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 steals in this year's event and his 29 career steals is a tournament record.
    • Had 12 points, six assists and a tournament record-tying seven steals vs. Notre Dame in the BIG EAST semifinals.
    • Named to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-America second team, just the second Louisville men's basketball player ever to attain that honor. He earlier attained Capital One Academic All-District 2 men's basketball first team status.
    • Received the 2013 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for his leadership, character, loyalty, all-around basketball ability and excellence in the classroom. He was named to the 2013 Allstate NABC Good Works Team for his charitable efforts in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.
    • Scored 15 points and handed out a career-high 13 assists at Villanova, equalling the third most in UofL history. It was his fourth career double-double, all occurring this season.
    • Scored 17 points against USF in the KFC Yum! Center to become the Cardinals' 64th career 1,000 point scorer. His 1,215 career total ranks 38th at UofL.
    • Had 15 points, 12 assists and buried a career-high five three-pointers against FIU, earning Billy Minardi Classic MVP honors.
    • Scored a season-high 20 points vs. Illinois State, the second-highest of his career. He matched a career-high with four three-pointers.
    • Named to the Battle 4 Atlantis all-tournament team after averaging 13 points, 3.7 assists and 3.0 steals in the three-game event. He had 19 points and six steals -- one below his career best -- vs. Duke.
    • His 677 career assists rank second at UofL, 36 short of the top position. He is the fourth player in UofL history with 500 assists and just the second to reach 600.
    • 2012-13 Senior CLASS Award second team.
    • Preseason honors included Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, first team All-America by Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, second team All-America by ESPN.com, third team All-America by The Sporting News, and he was among the top 50 preseason candidates for the Wooden Award and Naismith Award.
